Dealer didn't come back with order number, but did tell me it's on a ship somewhere between Spain and UK and they now expect it to be with them end of August/early September :D

Not long to wait now....

The journey on the boat should be about 8/9 days, the getting out of docks to the dealer can be delayed, heard about one guys motor sat there for 3 weeks cos SEAT CS forgot to press a release ok on their computer. Mine left the docks almost right away and was at the dealer 3 days after, so you could get it sooner than that, depending how long it's been at sea.:D

The earliest I'll have it is 1st September, now it's so close I may as well hang on for a 64 plate ;)

Had my plate on 6 SEATs, and 3 MG's before that. Got a plate on the CBF too, and still have on retention my old ice cream van plate, which is up for sale on some reg site (can't remember the name offhand).

Finally picked up my black ST FR 184 today. Took my time going over it, to be fair the dealer didn't rush me. Couldn't be happier, had a smile on my face just trying out the adaptive cruise control in a 30 mph zone. Got the kids approval when I got home so, will post some pics when it stops chucking it down!

Yeh forgot about that, having a personal plate kind of negates the age thing.

I lost the 'new reg got to have' mode years ago, it's only 'new' until you drive it off the forecourt, then it's a used vehicle so it means bugger all anyway.

There are so many personalised plates around these days. One of my pet hates is wrong font and spacing, we have loads around where I live, police could have a field day if they could be bothered to get off their arses.[:@]

Just called my dealer, Thursday 02:00 PM next week (21st) I'll pick up my Black Cupra 280.

Has been a long wait, 14 weeks. I just beg that the car makes up for it, it has annoyed me aloooot that we have to wait for so long to get the car. Took 2 months until they even started to build it. For example my dad and me ordered cars the same day (he ordered a seat leon ST) and he recieved it 4 weeks ago.

As said, I hope the wait is worth it.

Great news that your getting it soon! Bet you can't wait after a long 14 weeks!
Did you not want to wait to get the new 64 plate?

Rubbish.

I gave in and called Seat CS to see if I could get a better location on my car than 'somewhere between here and Spain' that the dealer was giving me. Wish I hadn't now.

Apparently the car was built as planned week 31 (which I already knew) and is now sat in the port at Barcelona waiting to be shipped to the UK. But because the Seat factory closes for August they can't tell me when, exactly, it will get shipped. It might be soon, in which case I'll likely have it for the early September pickup date I agreed, or it might not be until the end of August in which case it won't be until mid September :(

So now there's one more thing to worry about :(

True, and I'm thankful for that. But I had arranged time off work to go and collect based on the dealer agreeing a early september pick up date and now I might have to unpick all that. Or not. I can live with delays, it's the uncertainty that's a real pain.

My car has been delayed multible times, I know how it feels like. For some reason its extremly annoying
