Hi. I know most of you will tell me to make one :) - but i don't really know where to look for the sheet metal to purchase.

so had a quick look on eBay and a circular heat shield came up - seems to wrap around the cone filter? The more popular ones made by ASH - Im just wondering if anyone has tried these out and if there any good in comparison to the standard box/square type shields

Many Thanks

It's not actually sealing off the heat from the engine though. I would imagine if anything that design would offer more losses than gains. That's what you get for under a tenner I suppose.

Yeah massively. .don't care what I spend just never had one before and always hear they are recommended ..Looks to be a purchase from badger 5..

Heat shields... Waste of money... Show me a big powered car that runs one?

I have never had one my self. Currently running a k&n open cone with no problems..although it does need replacing as it's burnt on the battery (I think) so a bit of the "mesh" on the cone filter has melted.. It makes sence about what people say about it sucking in hot air. .. hence the want for me to by one.

How does a piece of ally wrapped round your filter stop it sucking in hot air? That thing you posted will cause a restriction to the filter. The 'cold side' of your turbo is likely to be 100+degrees, a bit of tin in your bay is futile. Money is better spent cooling the air after it has left the turbo IMO.

I'm just going to point it I am not getting the above. It looked crappy but as I was finding it so hard to find a heat shield I had to look at my options and see if anyone had actually tried it. I think the above is just for style.

My birthday soon so going to be buying a new TIP...along with a JR filter and a heatshield. Though that's a nice little package while I wait for my exhaust :)

Drop the heatshield and invest in better cooling (FMIC)

100% agree, Thats coming closer to Christmas along with the cobra exhaust.. in the meantime still debating weather or not to get the heat shield. always hearing they are recommended, then some people say why bother lol

FMIC are approx £400 + ive seen ? < although money will be well spent. will have to look around at what one to go for

WOW, that's incredibly cheap ? I thought i was looking at a 300-400 pound plus ?... You mind me asking, DO you have a link OR point me in the right direction for the TOYO pipes aswell please ?

Definitely considering this ...

You will have to wait untill they are in stock again, or buy a similar kit from other sellers

I sold the toyosports FMIC seperately and kept the pipes. Protip: buy proper jubilee clips and lose the T-bolt clamps. In the startup fase I had a lot of problems with pipes slipping of. Swapped to normal jubilee clips, sorted.
