Interior temperature

Has anyone ever felt like they have an interior temperature calibration issue??

When I came home from work today, it was a nice afternoon. It was showing up as being 16-17 degrees outside. It was nice and comfortable inside as well tbh. However, with the CC temp set to 22.5 degrees, it was still blowing a fair amount of pretty cold air out, like it was trying to cool it down a lot.

My old Leon I generally had set to either 21 or 22. I bought this one last summer, and I'm fairly sure it was the same. However, I noticed over the weekend that I needed it up to 24-25 to actually heat up, and the same theory appears to be following through.

Any ideas??

I'm forever adjusting mine , it feels different everytime I'm in the car.

I get this occasionally, it's usually if you have sun coming in through the front window as there is a sensor that it uses to decide if it needs to blow cool air to counter the effect of the sun.

Are you running in ECO mode ?

if yes - The climate control also works in eco mode

afaik 'eco mode' (not entirely sure as cupras don't have an eco preset) is only relevant to AC not the whole of the CC aspect.

I have CC in my FR and there is an eco mode selectable.

That is eco mode for CC not just eco driving mode

yeah in the car mode settings for "individual" on the cupra, you can change the climate to eco, none of the other presets change that to anything other than normal. but my point was that afaik the eco mode aspect of this is the way it restricts fuel usage in the AC part of the CC. for heating and everything else it makes no difference. so it shouldn't make a difference to how well it is keeping a defined temp if its in eco or whatever the 'max' setting is. it'll only make a difference to how quickly your car will get to a certain cold temp.
if that makes any sense at all. (the more i type the more i think it doesnt)

Yep - makes sense

In normal mode - it uses as much power as it needs to cool the interior quickly

In Eco mode - it has a restricted amount of energy and it will cool the interior eventually.

I have mine on 19. It did take a while to warm up in the winter, I would say up to 10 minutes, but now I just switch it on and off when required. If the inside temperature is over 19, it does blow colder air even with the AC off.

Got in my car yesterday, which only has the standard air con, so there is no way of knowing what the internal car temperature is unless I was put a thermometer in the car. Bit surprised when you consider that there's info available on your oil temp / outside temp.

First real decent sunny day we've had here in Norfolk for quite some time now, due to it being overcast lately.

Any way, I had just left my home and went to deactivate the stop/start function and noticed that the air con had switched on and was also in the recirculation mode.

Is that meant to do that automatically if it senses the outside temperature might justify doing so ? If so I've misunderstood / misread the car manual instructions.

Outside temp shew 19C before driving off.

After driving a little way it shew approx 13C.

Strange thing happened to me on my way to work this morning. Both the heating and the AC were off and outside were about 10 degrees, yet at some point the car started to blow hot air in...

I think I must be allergic the the "ECO" mode - I do try to select it but my finger just won't do it.

I think I suffer from something similar, I call it Ecophobia.

Plus, in eco mode, its like someone replaced the engine with a monkey on a unicycle, and it could just be my driving style, but I've never seen a markable improvement in MPG.

Ditto. You'd think you should be able to set it at 19° and it would always feel the same, but if it's warm outside you need to turn it down to 17° and if it's colder you need to turn it up to 21. Why?!

Coz its a shite VW system. Same one in Passat and I'm always adjusting it.

why don't you all just take a thermometer into the car with you? remember you only feed the *difference* in temp and less likely to feel the actual temp itself.
if you used an independant temp monitoring device then you'd put this arguement to bed straight away.

to be honest i've only had the car for a couple of weeks but i've not had any requirement to faff around with the temps at all so far. its always a decent enough warmth for me when it gets up to temp

That's an idea, I'll also take a map book for when sat nav decides I'm in Germany, some candles to assist the LED's , and a wireless to listen to music whilst the 'media system' tries to find my iPod..... Oh the joys of cutting edge car ownership.....

hah i've not experienced problems with the sat nav or LED's yet (are they not very bright?), but i can certainly agree about the ipod so slow its almost unusable.
