Hello,

My steering in the morning seems a bit lighter than at afternoon or after a little trip like 5 or 6 miles....

Do you notice something like this?

I am in my 3 steering pump and I'm a little paranoic about this...

Thank you!

I'm not sure about your model but mine changes on the speed. Perfectly reasonable to be paranoid in your situation. But if I'm driving at 10 mph the steering wheel is pretty light. Then the faster I go the more it tightens up.

Test it out yourself in a car park or something.

With mine sometimes that happens, sometimes it doesnt. Sometimes it's as hard at slow speed as it's at high speed

Mine doesn't feel much different above 10mph either tbh. seems very similar no matter what speed. I've read about the different settings that you can change, but haven't got around to changing anything yet myself.

I have a 1.2TSI FR. There are some other threads about people changing/playing around with the steering feedback.

Last saturday I did a 250 miles trip and when I arrived I believe the steering was harder than when I started the trip...
Something is wrong [:@]

Anyone has the same situation?
I'm tired of this car...

Went to SEAT and more 200€ spent without the problem solved, they changed the conector in the pump wiring

Mine changes based on speed but also acceleration I believe. If I boot it (rarely) the steering stiffens up so you can keep it in a straight line I guess?

Its a phrase for accelerate hard. Like when you push the accelerator down quickly it changes down a couple of gears :)

I do that a lot, the 1.4 doesnt answers well below ~2300rpm so i need to push the acelerator down a lot.

Check the power steering reservoir typically systems like this result from Low Fluid and from the sounds of it you're having issues with the pump running dry, normally the leak is internal on the rack and it fills the Tie rod gaiters up with fluid.

Reservoir is full and never dropped level.

It's the fluid warming up, most VW's with electronic steering have this 'characteristic' my Ibiza had this when I owned it.

Could it improve with the original VW fluid or did you had the original fluid? The pump was replaced and I don't know if they used it.´
All I know is that it's G 004 000 M2 wich is the recomended specification

Yes all original, don't let it worry you
Edit: The electronic steering in cars is different however, just seems to effect the hydraulic steering

You mean to say that it does affect the elctro-hidraulic sytems, right? Above you said only electronic and now the opposite.
Mine is electro-hidraulic.

Oh sorry no I mean the hydraulic systems without the intervention of electronic assisted. Perhaps get a check up on the steering, I'm sure you've checked your tyre pressure..?

My car alerts if the tire pressure isn't ok, but I still check it every month
Maybe it's worth a try to change the fluid to VW original
