Steering lighter cold and harder hot

Noticed today same thing happens to my brake pedal :S

What could it be?
 
Today I shaked the power steering pressure lines and the steering became lighter. Did anyone had problems with those?

That to me suggests that there is still air mixed in with the fluid. Have you tried jacking up the front of the car and with the engine running, turn the steering full lock to full opposite lock 10 times or more to try to let the system purge itself of trapped air? After that check the fluid level again as if you have removed air, the fluid level will have dropped.

Yes I did. With engine off and with engine on, like 50 times each, level didn't drop althoug there were some bubbles.
 
Found something, that wire seems to have some problem, could this cause problems to the steering?

Hello,

Has anyone tested what voltage does your alternator generate?
Mine is 14,2 on cold start and around 13,5 after a while.
Is that normal?

Can uneaven tire wear cause problems? My tires are less weared in the center. Because I had the car without the proper tire pressure for a while.

PS: I'm using the correct tire pressure now.

I'd say that that is okay, the higher initial voltage will be due to the battery needing to get re-charged and as time goes on, the engine idle speed drops and the battery is recovering, so the alternator voltage is getting reduced.

Running with low tyre pressures will have caused the inside and outside of the tyres wear more than the centre part, it would also make the steering heavier than normal!

I know that was more a year ago that I had low tire pressure so the tires became like this

I have to charge my battery, do you know what happens if you close the bonnet without battery?
Is it possible to open the bonnet without battery?
 
Yes, the bonnet release is just a Bowden cable - or wire if you like.

If your car has central locking, after you remove the battery you will need to lock all the doors individually, to do this on all the doors except the driver's door, open the doors and on each one find a black soft plastic seal/bung with the shape of an arrow on it near when the door lock is, remove these bungs and place the car key in the slot and turn it slightly, refit the rubber bungs and close the doors - they should be now be locked, lock the driver's door using the key. The doors you locked using the mechanical tag can be opened using the inside handles or the central locking when the battery is fitted back into the car.

Thank you, will charge the battery to see if it has any effect on the steering. If it has then I have to take a look at the charging system, although it seems ok, the last time i checked 14,34V cold, 14,09V after 30KM.
 
After one day without using my car marked 12,4V wich is around 50/60% according to this table:

I think it is a bit low :(
 
Maybe try the same thing but with one lead removed from the battery.

One thing to consider is, if you have left the car for about a day, then unlocked it and opened the bonnet and then measured the present battery voltage, it will probably be lower than it could be because some of the power supplies will have been switched on, if you wait about 15 minutes they will shut back down and the battery voltage will rise back up a bit - but not enough to make that reading look "good" - I've really just added that as it is the same when switching the car off after a long run, ie the measured battery voltage will be maybe 12.45, but if you leave it for 15 minutes the battery will be at roughly 12.65 .

What you are seeing could be due to abnormal battery drain, but have we not discussed this earlier? Other than that it could be due to the battery fitted being weak/faulty, but has it not been replaced? You have already checked that the alternator is charging the battery.
 
I think that you should quickly contact the seller with pictures of that damage, it would be handy to have pictures of the packaging as well for proof of damage in transit - if only for them to claim back off their insurance if they had any.

Now, if you were lucky, they might not want you to return it to them, so it be handy to sell on to someone while telling them about that damage, as they might just use it for spares.

I'd guess, only a guess, that the pump will have been damaged as I'd think that there is not too much free space at that point in the housing.

Already contacted the seller, 10 minutes after it arrived :D
It had a really bad packaging, only a bubble bag around it, nothing more.
 
They asked to send it back, the value to send it back is almost the price of the pump, what should I do?
