Was happily trundling along at 60mph and the engine just suddenly died. All the dash lights came on and I coasted to the side of the road.
All the electrical systems work and the engine will turn over but it wont start.
I'm going to get it VCDS scanned tomorrow - is there anything else I can check or will the scan reveal all?
My hunch is one of the fuel pumps. The high pressure one is expensive isn't it?
Timing belt. I could prise enough of the top cover off to see a belt still there so that 'looks' ok.
Some electrical immobiliser issue? Some electrical sensor issue? Can one duff sensor eg crank cause this?
2010 2l diesel FR. 65K miles. Been faultless for the last 2 years and 35K miles. Fuel and air filters changed 10K miles ago.
