Looks like the same one that was for sale last month.
He was willing to come down on price from the asking price but people only want the plastics these days and not the NAV unit.
Still too much money for plastic even at a reduced price!

Definitely too much IMO. I sold a complete double din set up with leather armrest and sat nav headunit for £280 last month.

Agreed the nav unit of the Ebay listing would be hopelessly outdated. It may have been worth the asking price 10 years ago. The centre console is the only bit of value.

Would be nice to get a more modern system in the car but not at that price. I have seen single din android units with a motorised screen for around £200, has anyone seen/used one of these? Are they any good?

Thanks for the link. I'm thinking about trying an old android tablet and seeing how that goes. There a few videos online showing how to fit one.

I have a single din cd player with an input jack, so I may just get a tablet mount and link it through the current stereo.

It won't look very good with wires everywhere but will give me an idea of what having one would be like.

Hi Thai.

It seems pretty cool. Do you have CANBUS? It seems this model doesn't support it, only the VW specific ones.

Keep in mind those touch volume controls aren't handy and become insensitive. I'd go for a physical rudder/buttons.

No canbus to stereo controls on a mk1 Leon / mk4 golf platform car to worry about so should be fine in that regard.

Funny you should mention the volume button actually as it had crossed my mind and I'm still undecided.
The thing is this head unit ticks all the boxes for me especially as it's running the later Android operating system compared to most of the other budget head units in a similar price bracket.

I'm thinking maybe this one instead now as it has 2 physical rotary knobs on it although im not 100% sold on the bright silver, this said i might be able to swap them over with some silver rimmed ones from an old VW Polo headunit I've got laying about?

Thanks for the CANBUS info. I've read several times the MK1 since 2000 had CANBUS but I was not sure about it. But other SCN user has an general android radio and it works fine.

In my humble opinion that's the one I would recomend. It has all the latest upgrades and specs from other knowed brands. I don't know if you use Iphone, just be sure it mirror-links with latest IOS 6.
Some android radio only video-out the DVD signal and no other usb or sd movies that are playing on.

Other advice: call their support just to see how responsive they are also because aftersale's issues will appear.

Careful with that WIFI antenna as may not be the best place to be fitted (back of the radio) as under the dash should interfere with the signal/weak/losses. Other brands uses a Wifi wire to get the antenna all the way to the ceiling or above the dash.
