In a word yes, I imagine your rears are nowhere near as worn. They will last a lot longer not being the driven wheel. You could buy some more good tires and put them on the rear and the original rears on the front. You will have a matching set much quicker then.
Haven't got it yet .... ordered the new 300 which is delivered March..... just heard you can improve 0-60 by maybe half a second with better tyres and wondered as it's front wheel drive if changing just front would be OK

Has anybody tried the 235/35 Y 19 : Avon ZZ5 XL tyres yet. I checked out http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyres_For/SEAT/Leon-Cupra.htm which says that continental are the best but Avon used to be a good name in tyres and they are a good price. I need to new tyres for the front.
Trouble with review sites is that they only tell you part of the story. I use the power of the car so dont expect tyres to last but do want them to be grippy and not too noisy any feedback gratefully received.
One other question where do people buy there tyres. I am getting good prices on line does anybody have recommendations please

My cupra came with conti sp5's. Changed the fronts to Micky super sports which in my opinion are a far superior tyre than the sp5's. I used black circles for full fitting service. Someone posted up Kwik fit had an offer for the super sports so probably best to ring round once you have decided on the right tyre for you.
That was me, the Super Sports where £165 a tyre at the time.

Super sports are amazing. Bought two off amazon last year at £128 each but they are £159 each at the moment. My rears are down to 2.5mm but still waiting for the price to go down

If you have diamond cut alloys make sure you find somewhere that does it by hand and not just a machine. Last tyre place took a small chunk out of an alloy. Even a big chain will only charge £15 per tyre to fit.

Thought I would share my findings of the new Michelin pilot sport 4s been on the car now for 2 weeks. before that I had contisportcontact 6 they where down to the limit in 4 months may as well have just thrown the £320quid at the wall. I have a cupra 280 stage 1 apr intake tt intake pipe the wheel hop and lack of grip was driving me insane. Since fitting the 4s all I can say is they have completely tamed the cupra. wet grip is fantastic and on the rare chance of a dry day they are nothing short of amazing they dig in like a mother ###### there that good they have made the contisport 6 feel like a budget tyre. got them from Ats for £194 each they are expensive but there on another level only time will tell how long they last but am loving them.

my Fr184 came with the Potenzas. I have changed them all to Eagle F1 Assymetric 3s and they are way ahead of the Potenzas. feel much better in the wet, which is good in Scotland!

Thanks for all the feedback. I have ordered the Super Sport as this seems to be the tire of choice for most people. FYI I spoke with a online at home fitting service who told me that earliest delivery was end March.
I have ordered off Amazon for delivery next week.
I did ask about the Continentals (saying people complained about the wear) and the response was that these tires are very soft compound and you should expect 5 - 8k on a set (which ties up with what people are saying here).

Michelin Pilot Super Sport feedback
After over a year of having the old Bridgestone Potenzas I've found the Cupra pretty dull and unresponsive, full of wheel spin and axle tramping in most conditions meaning I haven't used full throttle for a long time. Me and the Cupra haven't Clicked for a long time as a result I was close to just selling it.
BUT along comes the day when all 4 bridgestones need replacing and the choice was the pilot Super Sport . What a transformation , even after 150 miles with them I have more grip and they haven't even bedded in yet. Wheel spin and axle tramp only occurs to a minimal extent if it's cold and the road is slightly greasy/ moist. Makes me wonder why Seat don't sell these as standard.
I've had michelins before - namely the PS2 and PS3 - the former of which faired much better than the latter but both didn't last particularly long . I hope the PSS last at least 10k miles from the early stages the performance is second to none and for a price similar to the bridge stones . Can recommend if you are experiencing similar problems then the rubber really counts, especially when the power is nearing the limit to justify AWD .

Maybe late, but if you can (19") and want to pay, get the Pilot Sport 4S instead of the Super Sport, as the 4S is the succesor of the PSS and better in every way.
If you're 18", get the PS4 if you prioritise all weather driving, PSS if you prioritise dry grip where it's a bit better but worse in the wet.
