Yep, my college was the same, had to do a clutch on an astra mk3 I think... previous buggers had done god only knows what with it, as it wasn't bloody there, but they'd put it all back together...

Didn’t hurt Van Goch’s fameany harm, although he have been screwed if his eyesight had failed.
Except a quick rummage through the workshop bin would unearth all the return springs and hold down cups that were apparently either too difficult to replace or they couldn't work out where they went![]()
Trouble is, we tend to use the plastic area under the windscreen as a bolt / tool holder (come on, who doesn't?). Every time I come to put something back together, I then realise the (whatever YTS kids are called now) have left a load of bolts in there from whatever they were doing. So I can't figure which are mine/theirs and if I put everything back because there's still a load of bolts left.
Before you start and your using the scuttle panel for your nuts and bolts plus tools
Check to see if it’s empty if not move what’s there and you know what’s yours and if you are unlucky and left anything over
I had a motor home come into work today that I did a clutch and gearbox + service and a mot the gearbox repair specialist left a ball baring in the box and it tried to worked it’s way back out in the diff housing and split the casing and leaked oil out so had to do the job again pain in the butt
My boss called me over as he was doing the mot and said to me look at this there is a pair off mole grips on the clutch cable opps that’s where they went to
. I'll try and remember to move all the bits first. I also always forget to loosen the wheel nuts before I put the car up in the air. So I have to bring it back down again! Every time!! Lol
Did you have fun doing all that work?
Is that last column where it says No... is that No of Kidneys needed/donated?
Will you be able to afford fuel for the meet lol

. Yeah, it's exactly that. Um, does this answer your question or do you need an actual yes or no?
Over a period of about 10 years I've gained a Mac pick tool and 2 Snap-On sockets left in the scuttle of my cars that have gone in for main dealer service........so that's where all the 10mm's goTrouble is, we tend to use the plastic area under the windscreen as a bolt / tool holder (come on, who doesn't?). Lol
I got back a pair off blue point vice grips that I lost a year ago still clamped on to the clutch cable off a fiat Ducato motor home I did a gearbox on last year
Was it pulled out of a ditch? Official report says clutch cable failed unexpectedly.
