2015 Leon Fr 184 idling noise

Hi all,

I have a 2015 Leon Fr 184 and noticed this noise today while the engine is idling. It drives fine but just thought this didn’t sound right.

Anyone else have the same noise or know if something could be wrong ?

I had a 2016 Fr st 184. I can't here anything particularly unusual, it sounds fine.

Sounds like a typical cold diesel to me? To be honest, it's amazing that they're as quiet as they are. You want to have heard diesel cars years ago!

I hear a clonking over the usual tdi rattle. Almost a tick tock repeating.

Bearing on something like the water pump maybe.

Is it idling correctly, if not could be the MAF Sensor

Sounds like a faulty dmf flywheel

I have the 184 tdi 2016 and it does this the odd time. Don't really know what causes it but definitely doesn't sound good.

Idles fine, noise goes away when the car is warm. It’s coming from the water pump side of the engine but I literally just had a new one fitted in July last year
