I have OEM armrest in my 2011 FR+ Leon

Recently I leaned on it with elbow when my son had put pencil case in there and it was too big so I snapped one of the hinges..

Anyone else do similar and do you know how to get replacement hinge ?

I tried to glue it bout it's very awkward to hold it in place to bond.

They are pretty thin and flimsy too
Broke easily.

Any help appreciated as I can't find any information on them accept the are 120 quid for new armrest

Exact same thing happened to me - I had a sunglass holder in there and it got in the way when I learnt on it,

I have tried various glues but nothing holds it. I very rarely open in now, and when i do it flops around.

I've got the opposite problem. Hinges are ok. But the clip that holds it shut has broken off a bit at a time. Now there's nothing to hold it closed so every time I go over a bump it opens and slams shut (unless I'm leaning on it of course).

I bought the hinge kit (think it was from Darkside) and worked a treat plus much stronger than original hinges

Also, there are plenty of armrest catches for sale on eBay

That picture looks like a completely different armrest to the one i have in my mk2 leon, i bought mine with the hinges broken, ive.tried using some sikaflex to bond the hinges back together but it takes ages to dry and its difficult to hold for so long. The Ebay kits ive seen are all for the mk4 golf armrest which is what bruceR's looks like. Going to try a fix on the weekend will keep you posted

After a few failed glue attempts, today I took lid off armrest and broken hinge piece out armrest.

They pop out using long nose pliers for leverage...

Then drilled holes in both parts of broken hinge and used small cable tie to fix together (again using long nose pliers to pull cable tie as tight as possible)
Put lid back on armrest (hinges pop back into place and so far so good it's perfect)

Well my armrest as started to annoy me a little now as unless rest my arm on it it rattles. John you idea looks great but mine has snapped right in the bend, so wouldn't work for me.

Have given up on glue so will have a think. Really poor quality plastic which doesn't help.
