Ordering car to cheer yourself up is probably not the most budget friendly.
Agree 100000000%. Great car, emotional one and helluva fun to drive it. But... yes, not very budget friendly to buy a car at all (no matter what). But if you buy one, the best is the one who makes you 'Click' and awakens you.

Ordering Formentor and waiting for delivery helped me out survive this sad, lockdown, winter. I knew there's something waiting for me in spring :)

I feel the same way, but I am worried, what will be the next thing to cheer me up. Budget is only so much.

Maybe it's not getting something else, maybe getting rid of something? Like the missus that might cheer you up ha

I was hoping, that next thing to cheer me up will be driving to continent, but doesn't look like it will happen any time soon. In normal times, I would be going to Belgium or Germany for weekend after getting new car.

Goodbye Golf! Collected by Arval today, report looked good so shouldn't be getting any end of lease charges. Formentor comes tomorrow 😁😁😁

Finally completed.. after run in period, ABT package mounted.
ABT power unit, ABT 19 rims, ABT Cup springs. Also resonator delete pipe from Progressive parts. What to say, first, car is flawless from day one, no infotainment and simmilar bugs. Everything works as it should! After mods, car is 4 cm lower, handling is insane! Power delivery also, noticable gains, cupra mode is just for pleasure and too jerky for everyday commute. All in all car is a real beast, 1500 km on the clock and for now everything is great!

Congrats. You should probably have a separate tuning thread opened :). This looks really good. When can we expect video of the sound and maybe some performance data.

Delivery day 😁.
Managed to squeeze in some time after work having a fiddle and going for a spin round the bypass. Essential journey to fill her up!
Some observations:
Road noise — seems louder than the Golf R I've just returned. I put this down to the 245 section tyres compared to the 225's on the standard 18“ rims the R was wearing.
Handling - Seems more planted and has less roll, even in Comfort. I put this down to a couple of things: longer wheelbase, seats and their position. I can't quite believe how low they can go lol, it's ridiculous, give it a try! The Golf was so high in comparison. The seats themselves really fit snugly. You really need feel that you are 'in' the car not 'on' it.
Infotainment: total faff, but have mastered some of it already. Got to sort the wireless Android Auto, appears I have the latest hardware, the software was also updating itself.. . Not sure if it completed when I stepped out. Digital dash doesn't bring up the readout options I'd like and have used before, but I'm sure I'll get over that.
Exhaust/engine noise — exhaust note is VERY quiet, even in Cupra mode. This is compared with a 2019 R, even though this had been damped down with new regs. I do recall the Golf exhaust note getting louder once it had a few miles under its belt.
Overall very happy though, especially as all my rubber floor mats fit. Even the rubber boot liner doesn't look too bad, couple of inches short is all.

Picked up my "candy" white Formentor last Wednesday from Lookers Stockport. Dominic Robinson was a pleasure to deal with.

350-ish miles in, still taking it relatively easy, averaged around 33mpg thus far. Very impressed with the ride, handling and performance, even if I've not yet properly pressed the loud pedal....

Hello guys, my car is finally here. It's a VZ (310ps) in Magnetic Tech Metallic with alternate copper rims. I'm very happy with the car. I was pleasantly surprised with the sound, the note is nice (outside) although the car is not loud which I don't mind. (I'm coming from a diesel Leon so it's a matter of perspective). I'll post some photos in the gallery when I get some time/better pics.

Agree with your comments about Dominic, he was a pleasure to deal with before getting the car and more notable very proactive in dealing with an issue post sale.

He deserves all the credit he gets

Agreed. Spot on bloke. I too also have an issue post sale, which Dominic is currently resolving.

To be specific, I have 2/3 scratches long ways across the gloss black lower valance in the centre of the front bumper. It appears that it had been dried at some point using a chamois or cloth containing a stone or 3, which is kind of understandable considering how close to the ground the valance is. They are not massively visible, but enough for me to want it sorted such that I am not charged at the end of my 2 year lease.

To this extent - I would suggest anyone picking up their Formentor checks this before signing on the line, or at least gets it recorded on some paperwork, for future reference. When I noticed it, Dom and I looked at two other Formentors in the yard and they all had very similar scratches, so it is obviously easily done unfortunately.

Also the paint finish around the outter most parking sensors is not the greatest. Again, worth a check, and perhaps more noticeable on mine as it is white.

Everything else is wonderful.....just can't wait to finish the run in period!

Funnily enough my issue was paint related too on the back bumper.

I live in the north East and so Dom has arranged the local Lookers VW dealer to put it in their body shop to fix it.

Can't argue with that for service
