Clock Keep going back an hour

HI Guys, quick question which is baffling me. Has anyone found the clock on their Seat occasionally decides to go back an hour. And I don't mean when the clocks change every year!!!!

I've noticed it only does it every few weeks. Do you think it could be a battery issue or the Seat Leon Software needs updating. I've got a Seat Leon FR 2017 2.0 Diesel.

What does it show in the clock/time settings?
I've never had an issue with the clock changing - apart from the usual summertime, when the time in the car is set to GMT+1. And I sometimes need to change it manually (toggle British Summertime setting or similar or automatic time off and on).
If you haven't already, I would double-check not just the time set but the timezone and summertime setting. I know there is a GMT +1 setting. Maybe the clock is set to the wrong timezone or set to GMT rather than GMT + 1?

If the setting is not sticking, it could be a battery or software.
Also, is this with a phone connected via USB? I presume it's the dash clock and not the central console which might be based on your phone time.

Yeh, i ended up disabling the auto time set thing. as it never seemed to work properly when the times were supposed to change.

Hi Graham, yes it is the dash clock only. I will review the other settings you've suggested. Cheers for the guidance

It'll be a combination of 2 things. Auto time setup to get it from the GPS/Radio and Day light savings turned off.

I do find it very odd it doesn't auto switch the time with daylight savings time, but then maybe the GPS time doesn't include it.

Hi Damo H, cheers for response. It does auto switch in line with the usual seasonal changes, but has gained this interesting 'additional feature' to decide to loose an hour and then re-correct itself automatically later in the day, every now and then!

I've checked all the settings:

Automatic summertime: ticked
Time Zone: GMT + 0h

Anyway, looks like it could be one of the 'character features' i might have to live with unless I switch it to manual.

I wonder if your GPS keeps thinking its somewhere else.

My phone GPS once nearly got me in trouble with the wife haha (well not really but she did ask), I was in Manchester but it showed me in Liverpool, a week later I was in Liverpool and it showed me in the middle of the Irish sea haha

It might be worth checking what happens when you untick automatic summertime. Is the timezone then still showing as GMT?
If so, what happens when you switch on automatic summertime again? I'm wondering whether it should then show GMT + 1 (to reflect BST)?

Edit - probably not, as GMT + summertime setting should be correct. Not near the car to check my dash settings.

Hi, a cunning idea, which I tried. Unticked automatic GPS option, made sure time was set to GMT and time is correct. Then I changed to the +1hr and obv time increased by one hour and is now incorrect. I've reset it back to automatic GPS and for now, time is correct.

It's all down to the radio station you have tuned to, as this is where the car gets its time from, no matter what the settings say. If you choose one of the BBC stations then no problem, but go off piste then all kinds of weird things can happen.
