Loosen the torx screws holding it on in the arch and manipulate it back into position then retighten.

I've yet to see one without some kind of sill damage from jacking up and I've had about 60 mk1s.

happens to mine all the time as my seals are flattened (by me)

they bolt on at the back but clip on at the front kind of have to push them on and downwards. I usually just give em a clout if theyre hanging off ?

Yep! Really cheesed off at the garage that did this. Bunch of clowns.
I found a place nearer to me that does MOT's, had really good reviews. I also asked to carry out a smoke test to find breather leaks. In the afternoon I get a call saying they were really sorry but grazed one of my newly refurbished alloys.. I went mental! They then apologised and agreed to pay the refurb cost and replace two tyres as one got a split in the side wall as a result.
Picked up the car and came home. Found a slight graze on driver side rear and side skirt bent out of shape. When I picked up the car there were a few of them, talking about how nice it was etc etc.. BS BS BS!! NOT INTERESTED!! I just wanted to get out of there. As further compensation the owner said he will not charge for the MOT or the smoke test. BUT i was gutted at leaving it with them. Whilst they compensated, didn't bother telling me about the other issues they had caused. Needless to say I will not be going there ever again.

happened to me in same place but worse, some kid jacked up in the wrong place and bent the lip of the sill i took the side skirt off got some big grips and straightened it back, on the broken underseal and paint i painted more underseal on it so it wont rust, refit and its straight now, you'll know what i mean if you take it off as it throws out the sill, got to give the lip some as it takes a far bit to straighten, while doing that i seen broken paint at bottom inside front wing causing rust so cleaned it up and undersealed that, common fault worth looking at

cheers for that..

I think I'm gonna spend a day taking that side skirt off and see what lurks behind it. I suspect it will be as you say, quite rotten. I will sport some tools, a hammer and grips and some hammerite to stop any rust etc. I tried to look for a guide to removing the side skirts but nothing here on SCN or youtube.. any resources to help me with this?

Very very simple to remove, torx screws on each end and 3x 10mm plastic nuts underneath (leave the screws attaching the brackets)

ok cheers for that, I will give it a go at the weekend or when it stops bloo*y pi$$ing down lol

I need to do this to one side on my yellow car.
Mine is bent in the middle, nowhere near you would jack it up to take a wheel off.
I took the skirt off last weekend, surprisingly mint underneath. One little bubble but that was it.

Thanks for that. Is it easy to take off and put back?

Also, I literally took a quick pic of the underneath, is this a matter of concern?

They're all like that, most of it will be loose underseal from been squashed from jacking up without using a rubber puck.

Cheers for that

What can I do to fix this? Thinking I should try to straighten it all and fill, followed by some hammerite perhaps?
