Maybe if its helpfull to someone with an MOI3 system like mine:

Before the update the (by me enabled) wireless android auto Always crashed if I enterd an garage/building with specific wifi or other random signals. It would always crash on the exact same spot in the garage, its was not only that garage also others. But the one I enterd like on an weekly bases it always crashes right at the enterance.

After I updated to 0870 (MOI3_EU_SE_R8700L) (from MOI3_EU_SE_R7820L) that was gone. I could not believe it so I enterd the same garage like 3 times XD.
so far the system did'nt crash on me so far. Will update if I see a crash again. If I dont respond anymore the version 0870 is stable.

were you able to update? I have the same version. I have this list of firmware from http://mib-helper.com/ but not sure which one is the correct
Hello,
I have a Seat Arona with MIB2 (6F0035869B) - MEN2_EU_SEGPx_P8010L / MU8590.
With this SW AppleCarPlay is not working correctly (sound issues) :(.
I know that the same issue appears with a comparable MIB2 from Skoda. For the Skoda device there is an updated SW available (MU8755) - you can check that in several boards...
If I go to "mib-helper" I do not see this 8755 SW for Skoda - but it definitely exists. That gives me some hope, that there is also a solution for my MIB2 which is not listed at "mib-helper".
Does anyone have news about a new SW for device 6F0035869B?

PS
on "mibsolution" I can find a SW "MEN2_EU_SKGPx_P0080L MU8755". This looks like an old SW Train version with new MU8755.
Unfortunately I am not able to download it. Also I don't know if I should install it because of the old SW Train?

Thank you :)

Thats Skoda in yours PS from the SK in the train name so don't use that. Mib2 standard for Seat the last release is 516. That's the codes and you can't jump train. The first letter is the train. So you need to know your train. That doesn't jump out at me in your first sentence. Need a picture.

There is a firmware thread which covers all mib2 on the Leon mk3 side. Same firmware.

You are better posting there.

Trains are 2xx, 3xx, 4xx, 5xx. You can't simply load 516 onto a 4xx etc. Seat published maintenence fixes for each train. The last one on each train is the maintenence fix for known bugs. Having got your train you find the end point of that on mibsolution.one or buy it from East Yorkshire Retrofit. The latter offers hand holding in the price.

Jumping trains is talked about on the thread.

Mib helper is like an AI system it may dump you in it generated by the logic someone has programmed into it.

@Tell,
thanks for the reply...
Here is a picture.
Which "Train Version" do I have? 2xx, 3xx, 4xx, 5xx?

What would really make me happy is a fix for the annoying Carplay sound issue...

Looks like the systems w/o navigation are not supported at all.
Also on "East Yorkshire Retrofit" I cannot find any SW for this device :(

I'm trying to update the firmware on my Seat Arona FR 2020 from 0515 to 0516 and having problems.

I've downloaded the correct file (I think) and added the files to the root of the FAT32 formated SD card.

When trying to update the Software updater then says 'Error: no data available etc

See attached photos of the stages for clarity.

Anyone any idea what I'm doing wrong please?

The metainfo2 file has to be in the route and then everything below. You don't put the holding directory in the route but at the top.

Any MAC operating systems involved?. The unit does a signature check. Macs will mess that up, you use CleanMydrive on the SD card to clear out Mac garbage.

You can't review the files and then save them. That will trip the signature check. You are suppose to use 7zip. Other unzipping programs may not work correctly. It could be a corrupted download. Download again.

Failure of the signature check will give you no update seen.

Edit. I think it's suppose to do it off USB rather than SD card but there are instances where SDs have been left in so best to pull out everything except the update so it doesn't get confused. You might have a cluster size it can't see. 4096 is the SD card it's fine with. Some of the early version of Windows 10/11 default to a very big size. The units aren't PCs so they only function to the limits as per the manual.

Hi, can anyone advise what to press to find the train on this unit? There's no menu button to hold down (or button with red stripes).

I've tried MST2_EU_SE_ZR_P0480T (because I can see software is 0472), but maybe I need the PQ?

I've been having the same issues as @ToshW shows in his photos, so thought I might as well check I'm downloading the right thing before buying a new SD card and USB stick.

Curiously, if I plug the SD card in with the unit turned on, a message flashes up saying "Update detected", but when I navigate to the update function it says one cannot be found, as in ToshW's final photo above.

That menu button is the bottom right I believe. They just don't say menu on them these days. I'd have to go out to the car to fumble the screens. May be latter. You are on the 4 train which means 480 would be an upgrade from 472.

Another fly in the ointment is where a previous owner has a user modified train unbeknown to you. They jump trains but you can't update from the modified train. Possibly not in this case if the car isnt too old.

The ability to update rests on the file being unmodified, un opened, not resaved and fiddled with. Just unzip with 7 zip on a PC. Copy to an SD card. The root directory should hold signature files etc. Sometimes these files are released one directory down which isn't going to work. You pop the map card out, put the update file in SD card slot A. Reports in the past where people haven't popped all cards and USBs out, so it only sees the update. Engine running although you are suppose to do it using a battery charger. Will reboot a few times.

If they are unfiddled with updates the unit does a signature check to make sure the update isn't corrupted or attempted to be modded. Back door modding came in when the mib2 enthusiasts found they could use POI import facility to update the units.

You can tell whether you have a modded file by looking at the end of the meta text files. It should end in a signature bank. These are are files that steer the update. That's the SLA1 check at the of the file that seals it from modification. If that signature bank isn't there it's been modded and isn't original.

If using the mibsolution.one site some of those files will / may be modded. The ones with a T in them are suppose to be the original. The gate crashing technique is done by putting in the mod after a signature check using the import POI syntax, so the give away of these files being modded is no signature check being present. But in all cases if you look inside these files don't save them else the checksums will fail even if it's been modded.

Anyhow that is a mib2 standard you have there. As I probably said further up if using a Mac you should use CleanMydrive on the SD after copied else that too will fail due to Mac file rubbish. The signature check will detect that.

Thanks for the detailed response, @Tell. You're right that the menu is accessed by holding down the bottom-right button on this unit.

I went through everything again and got 480T on the unit now. It might simply have been that I forgot to unplug my dashcam from the USB, but I went with a fresh download, slow reformat of the SD card, and extracted everything directly to the SD card rather than copying over from Windows - so a few variables in play and I can't say exactly what made the difference. Hopefully some of it will help other people.

That's 516 you would need, that's a mib2 standard currently on 515. There is a long thread on the Leon 3 side. It's all the same mib2 standard firmware for Seat so the firmware posts tend to collect against a model but it's across models. Tell tail was 515, the current map and the rest of the screen. That one is DIY with some care.

Firmware from mibsolution.one Guest guest if its still up.

Leon 3 firmware thread:

Look for 516 on debate.

The actual firmware

Hey guys, great forum I read a bunch of useful stuff. I am a new Ibiza enjoyer. I do have a question though. I have a system without navigation,

Installed SW train version: MEN2_EU_SEGPx_P8010L
Installed software MU version: 8590

My full link is not activated either. Now I don't really care much for android/apple car play, the only reason I wanted it is to use my phone for navigation.

But I don't want to pay 200-300 euros to a dealer to activate full link and then I still have to use my phone for navigation. I would like to have navigation on my own. Now I read somewhere that even though there's no navigation, its possible to use SD card with maps and it might work somehow (I doubt it, but still want to ask), but if that doesnt work out what would you do? My main goal is to have navigation, I dont really care for nothing else.

Also, since I don't really have any options, should I even bother downloading and updating firmare if I have all the same functions anyway?

Do you think buying a separate smaller navigation unit like tomtom or gemini would be the way to go? If you have any alternatives, let me know

Thanks
