So finally got the Cobra resonated cat back installed on my Mk3 Cupra 300 manual preGPF. I don't have pics as ive been busy and really it's the same car with shiny tips and you've all seen that before haha.

But I couldn't be happier. Deeper tone, more burps and farts, and now actually sounds like something chucking out 340bhp should sound. Nothing crazy but it no longer sounds like your dad's Mondeo. VERY slight difference in mid range power.

Sound recording on any device just don't give a true representation of the car even stock so pointless posting sound clips but I'm very happy.

Does it drone? I want one too but I'm afraid of droning on the motorway

No drone for me. Everyone's take will be different. It obviously sounds different and you can hear it but as to whether you think it's droning only you can really say - id say most people would say it doesn't drone. I know that doesn't help much but honestly Im super happy with it. If you drive normal/around town etc you barely even notice the difference other than a slightly deeper rumble when setting off. Overall it's basically only very slightly louder but has a much deeper tone so seems louder than it actually is if that makes senes. It's not enough to annoy the neighbors in a morning but enough to turn heads when you start it up. Put your foot down and then it's a different story but not at a crazy level. Just a deeper refined tone and more pops and bangs without being anti social. If you want just little more theatre without being a **** you'll be very happy with it.

Found 100% Solution 😁
Sounds like a really useful mod. I have been looking at different solutions like a VNC streaming mod and saw a VC Android Auto mod.
I'd love some pictures if you have and want to share them. I have an iPhone myself but like to tinker around:)

Did you use one of these ones?
VNC2MIB2VC or MIB2 High Android Auto Virtual Cockpit

What a great upgrade going from 6.5" to 8" facelift screen... The fit needs some fine tuning, half a MM here and there but I'm happy with the result. Stripped it for a good clean before fitting.

As I've fitted a late 887A MIB2 unit too, no issues with setting the correct resolution etc.

Hopefully have the chance to do Virtual Clocks before the end of summer, if I find the right set close to my mileage. Or maybe just plump up the wonga for a new set and set the mileage myself.

So I didn't get around to doing VC last summer BUT thanks to a kind customer and some luck, I now have a 5F0920790A with a faulty screen. Acquired for some testing and research, I'll slam a new screen in it and adapt to my car. Only sad part is the mileage is about 20k higher than mine BUT I am looking at current tools to sort that as I can do mileage on all VAG cars except VC.

I'll update in my thread as and when any progress is made. Might slam in a 3Q0 Gateway too whilst I am at it. Only because they are dirt cheap used and will open up the avenue for future stuff.

Which Software is installed?

Hello, I've got few things to show to you guys!

Additional undertrays

First of all I've finally installed all of additional undertrays (those which can be installed without drilling holes). The last two element missing were on sides of a torsion beam. Here is a comparison photo with three parts installed 1.5 year ago and those new parts.

Did it deadened any road noise? Hard to tell, probably not. Did it increased mileage because of more "aero" underside? Definitely not!

If anyone is interested in this mod I highly recommend this topic where I found all part numbers for my car: https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/inde...nder-trays-stone-guards-to-a-mk7-golf.320687/

New instrument cluster

Next thing was replacing instrument cluster from index E to index F. I was annoyed by missing heated steering wheel notices, and because upgrading software of instrument cluster is generally considered a no-no I decided the change it. Few days of increasing mileage "on bench", two trips to guys with GeKo access and a few bucks later I have new instrument cluster!

As a bonus now the "borders" on instrument cluster screen have the same color as ambient lights. Thanks to @cairus I upgraded my MIB unit so it also have borders with ambient colors!

Discovery and more details about this can be found here: https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/th...ering-wheel-to-a-mk3-leon.470860/post-5098983

New summer tires

My summer tires (Pirelli P Zero) were 5 years old and in the last two seasons started to be slightly "slippy", mainly on moist roads when accelerating from 0. I've replaced them to Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6. Time will tell whether it was good choice, but for now I am happy. As a bonus I've decided to install TPMS receivers in wheels. Hopefully in the near future I will install receiver and code it to car.

New windshield and assistants camera

And now big thing - I've finally replaced windscreen so I could install assistants camera! However there is a twist to the story...

Any sane person (that's a stretch by me thinking that sane person would even consider this mod but let's forget about it 😅) would replace winscreen , install 3q camera (without component protection or FEC codes) which was originally installed in Leon MK3, calibrate it using standard procedures and call it a day. But that would sane person do, not me!

I've decided to install 2q camera from MQBEvo (2020+ cars). It required component protection removal, it has not so straightforward, "hacky" solution to generate FEC/SWaP code and as a bonus there is no 100% matching parametrisation for Leon MK3! But hey, at the end it works the same or even worse as 3q camera :ROFLMAO: Okay okay, there are few new things like KLR support (capacitive steering wheel), Travel Assist support (glorified pACC) and it recognizes side of the road as "line" which is nice!

Summary about current state:
- Line Assist works ok-ish, probably because of Karoq parametrisation. Car ping-pongs from left to right side even with adaptive lane assist - I will definitely try to fix that in the future.
- Despite having Leon MK4 steering wheel with KLR module my car cannot communicate with it. There are two possible solution to this problem but I am investigating it.
- Traffic Sign Recognition works really well, no complaints here.
- High Beam Assist also works fine, although I wasn't driving that much in the dark lately to tell whether it is helpful or not.
- Front radar in conjunction with camera works definitelly better - it recognizes cars much earlier and distance representation on instrument cluster is way more accurate. Because of that ACC works much better!
- I was even able to activate pACC, so now when I'm driving on cruise control cars slows down by itself when it recognizes that there will be sharp turn or intersection.

But everything about that camera wouldn't be possible without @cairus help

This guy saved my ass at least third time when I did something that I shouldn't to my car! Huge shoutout for him and BIG THANK YOU!!! I hope that one day I can pay you back!
