Showing service notification each time I turn on the car

Hi,

I've recently bought 2023's Tarraco. Once I bought it, Service notification if I go to car menu and Service shows days and kilometers left until service - and on the main Menu for Vehicle Status it shows green tick - as all good.

I've done regular service oil and filters, and it has been reseted to 15000km/365days. But now, every time I turn the car, it shows notification for around 5 secunds in dashboard, that there is Oil & Inspection service in x km (x doesn't matter, 15000 or at the moment 8000). In the main screen vehicle status also shows the same. For me normally, this should be either 30 days or some let's say 3000km until the service, to start showing notification - and every time - despite how many days/km left.

I have access to VCDS - I've checked is there any things I can do, like changing FIX, ESI or SIA, with no luck.

Is there a way for this to behave as it should? I didn't bother with service - it's not a big deal, it's just annoying to me, and I don't want to schedule inspection just for that.

Hmmm. I let Seat do my servicing on my Ateca. . The Tarraco is a stretched Ateca sharing the same components as Kodiak and AllSpace.

It sounds like you have the correct tools VCDS / Obdeleven to play with the counters. The car is fundamentally built on the Leon 3 platform / Ateca / Golf 5 etc... and the rest I said about above.

Oil service light on ....

Moved my month old Cupra R ST off the drive this morning to be greeted by the “oil service in 30 days“. Car has less than 400 miles on it so I’m pretty confident I don’t need an oil change. Is there any way I can make it go away without having to make a journey to the dealer.

You can also fiddle with the button. Suspect the answer is in that thread or failing that the many threads on the common platform of components that were used.

Digital dash had a bearing on my quick read. This bit of text they reference in that link:

Vehicles with the digital instrument panel​

Follow these steps if your vehicle is equipped with a digital instrument panel:

• Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
• Go to DRIVING DATA menu by using the ❏ button on the steering wheel
• Scroll down and select RANGE menu
• Once you’re in RANGE menu, press the OK button for 5 seconds
• On the Service menu, you can choose RESET OIL SERVICE or RESET SERVICE
• When a message appears on the display, press the OK button to confirm

Since the Tarraco came with the digital dash that would seem to be the answer I reckon. Worth a try. Failing that it's something more weird. Question of finding those menus of the Tarraco and the "OK" button.

Failing that and nobody jumps in give the Leon 3 side of the board a poke. Reckon you'd possibly need to speak with someone with a digital dash thou. My Ateca is old school on the dash and that trip button. Digital dash that trip button which was they key has moved hence the instructions above.
