Hi,

I've recently bought 2023's Tarraco. Once I bought it, Service notification if I go to car menu and Service shows days and kilometers left until service - and on the main Menu for Vehicle Status it shows green tick - as all good.

I've done regular service oil and filters, and it has been reseted to 15000km/365days. But now, every time I turn the car, it shows notification for around 5 secunds in dashboard, that there is Oil & Inspection service in x km (x doesn't matter, 15000 or at the moment 8000). In the main screen vehicle status also shows the same. For me normally, this should be either 30 days or some let's say 3000km until the service, to start showing notification - and every time - despite how many days/km left.

I have access to VCDS - I've checked is there any things I can do, like changing FIX, ESI or SIA, with no luck.

Is there a way for this to behave as it should? I didn't bother with service - it's not a big deal, it's just annoying to me, and I don't want to schedule inspection just for that.

Thank you.

Hmmm. I let Seat do my servicing on my Ateca.. The Tarraco is a stretched Ateca sharing the same components as Kodiak and AllSpace.

It sounds like you have the correct tools VCDS / Obdeleven to play with the counters. The car is fundamentally built on the Leon 3 platform / Ateca / Golf 5 etc... and the rest I said about above.

See this one:

The Seventrumpet link...

You can also fiddle with the button. Suspect the answer is in that thread or failing that the many threads on the common platform of components that were used.

Digital dash had a bearing on my quick read. This bit of text they reference in that link:

Vehicles with the digital instrument panel

Follow these steps if your vehicle is equipped with a digital instrument panel:

  • Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position without starting the engine
  • Go to DRIVING DATA menu by using the ❏ button on the steering wheel
  • Scroll down and select RANGE menu
  • Once you’re in RANGE menu, press the OK button for 5 seconds
  • On the Service menu, you can choose RESET OIL SERVICE or RESET SERVICE
  • When a message appears on the display, press the OK button to confirm

Since the Tarraco came with the digital dash that would seem to be the answer I reckon. Worth a try. Failing that it's something more weird. Question of finding those menus of the Tarraco and the "OK" button.

Failing that and nobody jumps in give the Leon 3 side of the board a poke. Reckon you'd possibly need to speak with someone with a digital dash thou. My Ateca is old school on the dash and that trip button. Digital dash that trip button which was they key has moved hence the instructions above.

Thanks for in depth inofs. I will check what you mentioned. I am not sure I do have these option about Range, will check this.

Actually, I don't have oil or service light on, it's just the info in the dash, which makes no sense to me, to be shown on every turn on and turn off of the car. I reckon also that they did manual service reset, and that it can lead to fixed interval rather than flexible (if it plays a role in any way). But again, I see no reason to showing these information (regardless which interval is set), neither does the days are close nor kilometers.

I doesn't affect anything, and I don't need to go to service earlier, it just from point of few - I hate to see it every time I sit or exit the car.

I'm wondering whether it hasn't been reset so doing it again may sort it out... sort of two level thing. That reset counter is the one you do the mileage trip on. For the digital dash it's buried in the infotainment screens... least I reckon. We gave up on the Arona with the digital dash for setting the trip mileage. Given it's not my car a decision was made not to bother with it. That similar menuing for the service interval is buried in those screens as well. My interpretation of that write up above.

Thanks for additional help. Maybe I wasn't been clear with my explanation ☺️ - sorry. After the oil/filters service, the shop did reset the counter 15k/365d (long life oil - makes no difference for me the time, as I change 2-3 times a year at 10-12k anyway).

When I bought the car 2-3 months ago, there were some let's say around 10k and 400+ days to service. There were no notification like this - in the main infotainment screen there was "All OK ✅"

Now, instead of that, it's service info - regardless this state of km and days - was the same with 15k/365d.

When I turn the ignition it shows this immediately in dash, as well turning off the ignition.

I want get rid of it - unless let's say 3k until service required or 30 days, doesn't matter. Apparently it is possible to have it like that, just I have no idea why it shows now these information, and service interval is not near the bottom line.

Your video from last post, I can do the reset of inspection and oil, but ai don't think it would bring anything (back to 15k/365d - which was the exact state 45-50days ago when the service was done).

Obviously, this is service reminder (right?), but it shouldn't be shown.

Well mine just shows the calandar date reminder in the count down. Never oil reminder.

They leave the factory set on long service reminder, 2 years, but once they get put on an annual service they switch to 365 day counter. Now I pass on how they do that switch, that probably vcds / their systems.

Yes so I thought your screens were just a software mess. Both the Ateca and Arona here are on the annual service plan. They behave. Just get the x many days to annual service. Don't to do the mileage for the oil counter to kill in.

I just reset the inspection interval just to check would be any difference, unfortunately not. It just reseted to 30k/730d.

But oil service reminder remails and shows each time, it's something about that, but can't figure out what exactly and why 🫨.

Had another idea.... its not the time clock is it ?. I have mine set to GPS via satellite rather than manual. I can see if it was set in front of the service date it could keep reminding you. That would be having it set on manual rather than gps.

On the Ateca they did have a bug at one stage. Also if you have the car garaged where its not seeing the gps on initial start, it doesn't start with the current time.

Toggle from satellite to manual back to sat fixes any error. Fit a reboot in if it comes out of a garage on satellite and doesn't have the correct time.

Just an idea if it lost its reference point in time.
