VW new line 2026. They have been showcasing what's coming. Clicky buttons and dropping multi function touch screen stuff to set the temperature etc.

VW Admits Defeat: New ID.4 Will Have Physical Controls and 'Completely Different' Design - Autoblog https://share.google/WzI1uJL939cEgP6fw

Youtube videos etc of this. Nodoubt it will come to Cupra / Seat.

Will this mean that cars (non-EV) will keep, as on the Ateca and others, a physical gearlever for automatic gearboxes, instead of a fly-by-wire switch / lever / knob? :-k. :-k

Rhetorical question as the answer will likely be 'No'.

Interesting question. You'd have to look at the videos. The lever on the DSG is a pseudo thing to a fly by wire gearbox. I dont like the gear lever switch going up by the steering wheel as per EVs. It should come down to the normal place.

^^^^ I don't like the column shift, as on the Terramar, either.
