Could you clamp your T20 bit into a pair of molegrips and use the grips as the handle/lever?

Exactly what I had to do, and then spend 10 minutes slowly undoing the bolt..

Why did it take that long? (genuine question - I've not tried to replace the filter on my car yet).

Probably due to the lack of room. It's pretty straightforward to remove the trims around the bonnet release to gain better access though.
