I am looking for a bit of advice.
Today I finished fitting my dashcam (the front I did back in February), and I've been delaying the rear out of fear of breaking something. I followed Lozzy's guide here, and it was very good (cheers!)!
I'm really pleased how it went, up until reattaching the top boot trim surround. I never got it completely off, and wondered if the bottom boot piece had to come off as well (not wanting to force things). I managed to do it with the top surround merely detached rather than removed.
Once I'd got the camera installed, I gave it a thwack on the left side (just as I had the right), and it didn't go into place; instead, a metal clip flew out and then, much to my annoyance, every time I close and reopen the boot, I am reminded of my error with a rattle. I am wondering if this rattle is broken plastic or another metal clip... although for the moment, after a drive, it has stopped rattling (https://photos.app.goo.gl/J6qjLSz2ZJCqJCUb6).
Tempted as I am to go back out and fiddle with it, I'd first like to know for a 2019 5-door if I need to remove the bottom boot trim to remove the top? And I guess I should probably order some 4A0867276 & 4B0867276A? But at the same time, the trim isn't hanging off, it is just a touch looser than the right side (and not currently rattling), I'm just concerned about making it worse (new trim pieces)!
I also broke the other side of the rubber boot wiring loom plastic clip (the bottom side had already snapped) - I believe the simplest thing to do is seal it with some silicone sealant?
