Cheers Will, don't think I can be bothered with the retrofit in the existing lights. My days if tinkering to that level are over thanks to a wife three kids two dogs and a hectic job lol.

Plus no where to put car whilst I do it as my garage is now a gym, the lenses are on the limit of recovery too I reckon at least two hours a side to refinish.

Thanks again for all the tips.

Ps one. Ore I promise. I assume the leads just plug into the existing leads off the headlight to the ballasts etx and then back into the headlight to the bulb. Did you run this via a gap in the housing/cover or drill a hole?.

Dependant on heat I was planning on adding thick rubber draft tape to allow te cables to pass through whilst retaining a seal. Or does the slim ballast fit into the back of the headlight.

I guess there may be hear issues with that tho?.

Hi Danno,

No chance in fitting ballasts in those aftermarket headlights, you have to mount them somewhere under the bonnet and feed the cables through the dust cap. I drilled a hole in the dust cap. Suffered a bit from condensation but wasn't really bad! The gel packs solved that problem.

As for my bi-xenons I started the project with the help of Robthebubble on here, he supplied me with projectors and have me a load of advice on how to retrofit, don't think I could of done it without him.

The bi-xenons were planned for my seat Leon FR although I have sold the car now so I no longer need them, these retrofit bi-xenons will go on sale when I manage to finish them!!! Bare in mind I been trying to finish them for months!!!! Lol

I know a few people who would be interested in buying these from me as there is no better choice for lighting^^ unless you have £1200 for oem xenons

Looks like my beams where slightly out, must of been the night after fitting them, got them alligned at mot centre though

Will

Hey Will, If you dont mind I was just wondering what HID kit you used and how much it cost you?

I had used a xenon conversion years ago on my ibiza (which is no more) and it cost me quite a lot of money.

I currently have headlights similar to yours on my leon from dectane and am using the projector plug and play lenses without a xenon conversion.

Up until now I have been satisfied with them but when I saw the whiteness of your beam I am now seriously thinking about looking into the conversion.

any info you can give me would really help me out.

thanks.

Hi m.oo1
I was going to buy dectanes but they are for left hand drive cars therefore dazzling oncoming drivers, unless you bought them from robthebubble? He had a set and converted them for right hand drive for uk use.

The HID kit I used was the terminator kit by hids direct, no canbus warnings and are possibly the best kit I have ever used. No errors simple plug and play kit and pure white 5000k which not many company's do these days. At the end of the day you get what you pay for, I paid around £70 I think

Hope this helps
Will

Nice, just ordered all the bits. Riding home tonight on the bike I'm sure my Lenser Cree torch is better than my halogens :)

Ph, that was a nice leon Will. Never planned to buy one tbh, was after a focus, but the ones I looked at we're awful and I saw the leon hiding at the back if a seat dealers in the unloved part ex section and it was a bargain. I like it great fun. Lots of little cosmetic jobs to get it perfect but minor and as an ex pro detailed only time is against me lol.

Hello Will,

I dont live in the uk and have a left hand drive car so have no issues with the headlights.
Ill look into the terminator kit and see what the costs are to ship them out to where I live.
Pure plug and play sounds good.
The HID kit that I had for my ibiza (about 8 years ago now) was about £400 so the price has definitely gone down.
I see you dont have your leon any more.. pity, it looked good.
thanks a lot for all your help. P.S. love that pure white light

mike.

Nice motor and plate.

Here's my little bargain, was meant to be a run around but I think it may become a hobby :).

Had a brief detail but needs re full Monty correction in the spring, glass too. Was so filthy when I bought it I didn't notice scratched glass which I'm annoyed with myself over but will polish out.

Had the wheels painted, pioneer head unit fitted and a full service next stop head lights, led pack for the inside and maybe side skirts and bigger alloys come spring.

Yea I have these on my car at the moment. Just can't stop them from condensating when it rains. Drives me bonkers

Oh I was meaning the web site but condensation sucks, misting or actual drops?.

That said my original ones needed to have silica gel in to stop the fogging.

I'm hoping to install ASAP and after using the S-Max tonight with its amazing bi-Xenons (Low beam is the same as my hi beam) I can't wait, hope they don't leak tho :(

Yea I was referring to the link you provided. It's just misting I get but don't know what to put it down to; a bad seal or just temperature differences.
I have HID's in mine. I'd be interested to see if your cutoffs are the same as mine. Be warned though, that they won't be anything like your bi-xexons in your s-max.

Cheers, was interested in the web site too, had an awful experience with caraudio centre and don't want to be stung again.

Re the Smax they are the best xenons I've had better than the mini and BMW, not expecting miracles with this set up but hoping its noticeably better than the stock halogens, Is it worth doing in your opinion? Don't want to waste money on a styling exercise.

Ps condensations a pita, you tried some silica gel sachets in the back?. Always works.

Here's our S-Max

I feel so bad Rob!!! I think its because I dont actually have my leon anymore im not so keen to get them finished. Although I could do with some extra money so I could do with finishing them :/

They are complete in terms on fixing them in place etc, just need to seal them back up with the butyl sealant! hard when working 7 days a week, tend to have a shower and go bed ready for work next morning lol

Picture of projectors currently, Just need to put the lens back on :/

They look great mate. Are they the GTI-R shrouds? Do you know which other shrouds will fit within the Leon lense? Would the Apollo or Gatling gun shrouds fit? Also which projectors did you use?
