hey guys,
had my cambelt and water pump changed today at Cambelt King in Rayleigh Essex. And i must say I am well pleased with the service i received.
I dropped my LCR off at 08:50 this morning and got a call at 16:00 to say it was all ready to pick up. Turned up and my car was parked...
I have a leon cupra 2001 with the AUQ engine and air con . Does anybody know the correct part number for the poly v belt. On my car it is a double sided belt i.e ribbed on both sides - the dealer has sent me one ribbed on one side only and doesn't know the part number for my actual belt - even...
Yes I have done a search but I can’t find what I need.
I’m looking for a comprehensive guide on changing the timing belt on an LCR.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Hi
I'm getting this polish guy in work to get me a timing belt when he goes back to poland tomorrow. Supposedly car parts are insanely cheap over there.
He asked me engine size, bhp, and engine type.
How would I find out the type of engine? He described what I'm looking for, something...
Hi all,
Looking for a bit of advice/experience:
Is changing the timing belt on a 99 2L AGG engine a realistic DIY job?
Are there any specialist tools required?
I'd like to be able to pay for someone else to do it but I've been quoted £270 - £320 which is a bit much at the minute...
Having just bought a cupra as a few of you are aware im thinking a good idea would be to change the timing belt.i was wondering if anyone know's of the best website to order parts for your car from?
Spoke to my local VAG specialist as my 60k is a little late, coming up to 67k now. Got a price of £154 inc VAT, which I thought was decent. Also enquired about Cam Belt and got £220 +VAT, and it includes the water pump, so all in around £400.
Sound about right?
How often should this be changed? Am I right in thinking every 60k miles? Also how much are they? Just for the part
BTW, I have a 1.4 .cool/s (MPi engine)
I had my timing/cam (Or whatever it is called!!) belt changed in July as per standard for 55K car and since then my MPG has dropped by about 3 MPG.
Now only managing 46-48 MPG for the same driving as I was when I was getting 48-52 MPG. Also I can no longer cruise easily at 30MPH in 4th gear...
I've lost some tension in the seat belt (i.e. it won't retract properly). Tried a search but can't find anything on how to sort it - is it straight forward?
I have just had my timing belt, tensioners etc , and water pump replaced on a Leon Mk1 110 tdi.
The engine is running fine but there is a noticeable vibration at idle (steady 900 rpm) through the steering wheel and driver's seat. This was not there previously.
From various searches I have...
Ive done a search about this and there's a few possible causes...I'm having a whining type noise which I can only really hear when idling.
Video below..You can kind of hear it near the start

Any ideas? Maybe the alternator belt...it seems to fluctuate slightly along with the...
Since my Leon Cupra was cruelly cremated a few weeks ago i've been driving my girlfriend's Cordoba.
Last night the power steering failed and it started making a lot of noise. I've taken a look this morning and the power steering reservoir is empty. I've also found what appears to be...
After a spin into the gravel at Donington Park yesterday, I've lost the power steering belt. Thus I'm taking a trip back to the 1980's and manhandling the steering wheel. I actually prefer the feedback that the unassisted steering is giving me on the track - just realise how spoilt we've...
My car is a Y reg 1.6 with 55k miles, I bought it last march and the log book didnt have a timing belt renewal entry in it so I thought I'd better get it done, by a local garage not a Seat dealer.
So have I made a mistake of not having a full belt/tensioner kit renewal done the other day? I...
Hey all,
Last night I managed to strip the cambelt teeth on my 1.4 and I was wondering if anyone has any idea how much damage there's likely to be (all my tools are at home in Southampton and I'm at uni in Nottingham so I can't have a look at the moment!)
Basically what happened is I...
Hi guys I'm currently in the process of possibly buying a imperial blue 02 ibiza cupra. It's currently covered 61k and hasn't had its cambelt changed!!
I'm viewing it on sunday and was looking for some advice:
- how do you decrease the risk of the belt snapping? I assume driving slowly at...
Hi everyone,
Right soo picking up my leon cupra tomorrow and it has just over 37k on the clock. My company (which I am buying it from) are getting it serviced tomorrow and I said to them to check if the cam belt needs changing!!
