0-60mph in FR 184 DSG REVO Stg.1

Just measured 5.75. Engine is still breaking in, only on 4000 miles. Still can't believe this is a derv.

I thought I recognized your username, I used to follow your threads in awe on the mk5golfgti forum, I had an Octavia vRS tfsi at the time.
Good to see someone else has turned to a mk3 Leon.

Likewise, I too remember Hurdy and his lovely Edition 30....mine was a standard reflex silver specimen, still miss it tbh, the 184 is a lovely car but the Eddie was something special

Hurdy what kind of 60-120 times do you think I should be aiming for?

Realistically around 12-14 seconds. Maybe less.
My reference point is I did 62-124mph in the R in 7.9. A heavier car but with 500bhp.

Well torque said this morning at approx 06:34 a Cupra 280 Stage2 did 60-120 in 9.4 seconds.

Need to get to brunters with Vbox once got some more hardware and software updates.

Just a quick update.....

Swapped over to Toyo R1R's and Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's and did a few practice 0-60mph shots today.

Still REVO stage 1.V2 with 236bhp and 370lbft on V Power derv fuel.

Previous best was done on stock wheels and tyres with awful axle tramp and loads of wheelspin and measured 6.04.

Two quick runs gave a 5.63 and a 5.66.

Quite comparable to my old ED30 DSG when it was stock which also made 5.66 to 60mph at GTI International.

I wasn't expecting much below a six, but learning how to launch a derv without launch control and not getting wheelspin or axle tramp is an art form for sure!!

Another update....

Went to York raceway today and in the right hand lane it managed a 5.57 second 0-60mph sprint.

Not too shabby for a DSG derv on two week old Morrisons diesel at full weight.

These results all sound really impressive - enough to save the 7-8k cost of the ST FR to ST Cupra.

But something concerns me - is the engine/clutch really able to cope with the massive gains of BHP/Torque?
These potential gains are really tempting, but I was thinking of keeping this car for 6-7 years - would these mods cause any real issues for this length of time?

The ST Cupra is very tempting, but at 22-23k on Autotrader, thats too far past my 16k budget...

Edit: What affect do the remaps have on fuel economy?

I love my ST cupra.... Certainly feels a very different car to the FR that I test drove.

If I was looking for a 184 diesel estate I would probably go for the Octavia vrs estate rather than the ST FR.

My heart is set on the Cupra ST, as it comes with all the features that I would have selected in the FR, plus gets the power with no mods. Suits my needs perfectly, and would be cheaper to maintain then my alternative choice 530d F11 BMW

Just a little pricey as its still quite new and my wife hates the idea of a PCP type agreement.

I got 11.02 sec, at hour ago. 1.8TSI APR stg2

Hi there. Just stumbled upon this conversation via a google search and i am really intrigued by what you mentioned above.
Now, for one i am not a Seat owner anymore, but other than brand it's same engine/transmission/chassis so i think that what applies to you will also apply to me.

I own a DSG GTD mk7, so basically same car as you. How the hell do you launch your car without launch control or slip ? You put the dsg in sport but not disable the esc ? Also when launching do you experience a lag between when you take your foot off the brake and when the car actually starts to move ?
