This has only started happening in the past couple of months and everyone is noticing it.
The car has always idled a few hundred rpm higher for the first couple of minutes when started, ive always been told this is to help it warm up, it always settles back down to a quiet steady level.
But, now, when starting from cold it is incredibly loud, a sound coming from the engine that almost sounds like the exhuast is blowing very very badly, really rough. This coincides with the rev level being higher, and when it starts to slow, get a loud noise of air release from the front of the engine and back to normal????
Anything to worry about? It never used to do it, and my Golf 20vt never did it either?
