1.6 Petrol - All Gauges Out

Hi All,

I have a tail of woe about my 1.6 51 plate MK1 Leon. I recently had my cat replaced by Kwik Fit and about 200 miles afterwards my Engine Management light came on.

I took it to a different garage that ran the diagnostics on the ECU and it said I had a faulty EGR valve and the Cat wasnt reading properly. They replaced the EGR valve and reset the error codes. 300 Miles later the EM light came on again and I also noticed my engine temp light was stuck at 60F. Took it back and they said the Cat error code came back and that i should get it replaced through Kwik Fit warrenty. They said they checked the lamber sensor and it was fine - i'm guessing it doesnt like the new cat though.

Anyway got in the car at the garage was just about to pull out and noticed none of my gauges worked! Fuel, Engine Temp, Outside temp - all not working. What have these guys done to my car! [:@] Everything worked fine before i took it in to them. They are looking at it again on Thurs and if they tell me i need a new ECU i'm going to go mental at them.

Anyone got any ideas about what could be up? I've reset the ECU but they are all still off. I really love my Leon but it's begining to cost me a lot of money!!!

cheers!

have you checked you fuses? which are linked to the dash. Have you had any water damage which may have caused the dash instrument not to work.

or run an instrument output test if you have access to vag com.. it tests all the lights and gauges etc

i found it other day while playing around :)

if you go to instruments (can't remember which number off top of my head sorry)

then near where it says recode, its got output tests. Just keep clicking next until you've done them all ;)
