having trouble finding a topic sayin where the thermostat is on my car.

if someone could tell me or post a picture showing me where its at and if its easy to change, as my fans dont work as my car get hot hot hot when its standing in traffic and im guessing its the stat

behind alternator

HOWEVER

Check the fuses on top of your battery first,., you will probably find one of them is discoloured and possibly melted. no fans will run if so, not aux water pump.

OR

Water pump itself has failed, plastic impellor broken off/cracked. - usually idle temp is ok, just climbs when moving tho, so I would go for the fuse check option myself

checked fuses all look fine, the temp doesent rise when im moving it stays at 90 untill i stop moving then it starts climbing slowly but ive never let its get past 100.

still think it could be water pump ?

or is it gonna be the stat

im having idle problems too car likes to rev a few hundred rpm when its sitting still, just changed all the plugs so its not that.

As Bill rightly says your fan's are the problem, you need to investigate why they are not working! Are you sure the fuses within the black box that sits on top of the battery are fine? If they are ok then you will need to test the fan its self to do this apply direct power to the fan (using a fused lead). post back the results

just had a look all the fuses are fine, but the fan connector was full of water when i pulled it apart so av dryed it up and left it to dry over night, would that have shorted something out ?
