1.9 tdi judder when pulling away

I've just bought a 07 reg 1.9 tdi leon stylance with 17k on the clock. I'm finding it virtually impossible to pull away in 1st without judder, this is even worse on hill starts and in reverse. I'm still hoping it's because I'm not used to the car, has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I found this when coming from an Astra Diesel, I found myself not putting enough revs on. It took me a couple of weeks or so to get used to...

What did you used to drive before?

I think it's likely that you're not used to the car/clutch. I used to do the same in my 1.9 TDI Golf quite often, if I went back to it after a long weekend of driving my missus' Accord diesel.
