hi,
I am looking for the correct oil filter cap wrench I can use to replace the oil filter but unfortunately do not know whether the ones described as for the VAG use is suitable (as the my filter cap looks different to me)
Would someone be able to confirm that the Altea 1.9TDI actually needs this type of wrench

as opposed to this one:

I counted the flutes and I have got definitely 12 as well as grooves which the first wrench (described as for Renault/Ford) should fit into perfectly I guess.
Am I going crazy here or does it look like I have not got the original oil filter cap ?
thanks
s.

, on mine there is a large nut moulded into the top, I just use a 32mm socket on it, works a treat every time (though you need an extension on the wrench to get access, as you'll no doubt have sussed
