Ok my car is going for a run on he rolling road on Saturday and im wanting to make sure I get a decent figure so I was considering trying some 10k boost through it.

Has anyone tried it on a 20vt? Is it worthwhile or can anyone recommend another product to try? My car has 57k on the clock btw

Cheers

Richie, for an extra bit of perkiness, I'd try some Miller's Octane Plus. 1 bottle will raise the octane of a half tank of petrol by 2 numbers. Get some Tesco 99 in there and you'll have 101 octane fuel.

What part of Ayrshire are you from? I grew up in Girvan :D

Nice one mate I'll be sure to try that but there is a bp near the rolling road that does the super duper unleaded LOL so I may try that

I'm from maybole mate, I'm sure you will know it well :)

I do mate, my sister-in-law's other half comes from Maybole.

The BP sooper dooper unleaded is mega expensive at about £2.50 a litre , I don't know if I'd go quite that far for an extra 1 octane :D

so does this millers stuff actually make a difference... also cost of this is?

surely itll take the ecu 2 tanks to adapt to the higher octane, and will the map suit this?

seems to be a fiver for a bottle..... so add 5 to every tank you put in, is the benefits really worth it?

Millers products are quite highly respected. If it says it'll up the octane number by 2RON, I believe them. Benefits are questionable, it'll allow the ECU to advance the timing a bit because of the lower possibility of detonation. In theory that should make bigger power. It depends on how aggressive your ECU map is. I'd guess that it'll make no difference on a standard car but you may see benefits on a remapped car so long as you can keep the charge air temperature down.

TBH, I think Tesco 99 or if unavailable Shell V-Power are the best fuels available and would be more than good enough for a rolling road session.

I would have thought so

Unless you use this stuff every day it wont give a true reading of how your car is performing cos after it's gone you will be X amount of BHP down on the RR figure.

Just run a few tanks of super unleaded through it and make sure it has been serviced recently, Old oil and plugs can knock your BHP down.
