I have been looking for a Dension Ipod kit for my mk1 Leon Cupra.

All the ones I have found (VW/Seat) have a 12 pin connector to the back of the headunit.

From what I can gather reading thru previous posts my Aura HU has an 8 pin connector.

Question is do I need the 8 pin or can the 12 pin be made to work?

Steve.

I suspect the 12pin version will be a rectangular plug that connects to the end of the changer lead (as opposed to the back of the headunit)

If you're getting one online, go for the one that's recommended - cos I don't know much about compatability - but if you have the changer lead into the glovebox already and you're buying from somewhere where you could easily return it, try a 12pin version.

I've used the Soundlinks adapters in almost every version & configuration and they all tend to work with the Aura HU

Cheers for that - never thought about it connecting at changer end?

Not heard of the Soundlinks adapters - will go and take a look.

Done some more research on this.

From what I can make out my car (2003 model) will need the 8 pin connector. The 12 pin was used on later VAG cars.

Anyone confirm this?
