I had a decat pipe fitted on my ibiza and i got involved in several threads where people said that it was illegal not to have a CAT on any diesel car made from about 2000 onwards so i find it very surprising that Milltek are bring out a turbo down pipe with no CAT at all. Surely if it is illegal to run a new car without a CAT it must be illegal for milltek to make and fit a product that removes the CAT and leaves no way of fitting one? I know they could sell them for " off road use only " sort of disclaimer rubbish but i am surprised that milltek would do such a thing and personally i wouldnt want to buy one if there is no way of putting my old CAT back in the system without copping it about. If i wanted to buy something like this i would buy an enlarged turbo down pipe fit a decat pipe with flanges on it so if needed you can remove the decat pipe and refit your old cat again which would also needed some flanges fitted on it. I have done this for years and it only takes about 5-10 mins to change the cat over with the car on a ramp.
Stoneyford i still have my old CAT for sale if you or anyone neededs it for MOT time. CAT was only on my car for 48 hours after i left the dealers so good as new really and already has flanges welded on either end ready to be refitted.Clicky here anyone interested.

Mike, Milltek will bring it out for one reason. they state its not for road use. so it does nt have to be road legal.

Bike cans have been like this for years.

I did say that about half way down my post BUT it still leaves anyone with it on there car in the shite plus if milltek or any other garage fits this system and lets you drive off on a public road i would have thought that they could be prosecuted as well. Now i will be the first to admit that a dont do everything by the book and i ran a decat pipe on my ibiza and i will decat my Audi when it turns up but i now what i am getting myself into and i always make sure that if plod do say anything i can put my old CAT back on as soon as i get home if necessary which you wouldn't with this system.

The decat has no restictions where as the 100 cell cat does but how much of a difference it would actually make i dont really know.What i do know is that i can make a decat pipe up for about £40 when how much is a sport cat £200 + then you still got to add on the price for a down pipe !

I had chat with Milltek about it today ;)
I am going to stay with the Hiflow cat and downpipe I have on order ;)
As for smoke if the car is mapped you may get more smoke depending on what map you have!
And the decat will NOT be for road use ;)

@Mike obd

You will be pleased to here I think that you're the only one with a Milltek de-cat system:happy: .
I've sent an e-mail to Milltek to ask when this system will be available.
The answer was : "Unfortunately we will not be producing a de-cat pipe for the Seat Ibiza FR, due to a lack of interest.":cry:

It will be a system with race cat then for me...oh well:shrug:
