hey guys

after having the leon for 3 weeks now, i love it but am gagging for a remap. I cant however decide between 2 companies, either the revo or custom code. Can anybody recommend one or help me decide. Biggest factor is basically i don't want clutch slippage!!!

this is mentioned all the time, this is one of the things i stil cant decide on , i dont care how far i travel as long as its reasonably priced but more so reliable after , dont want to put evrything on limits and bangs months down the line, i can get it done 10mins down the road, for £100 odd but think he only turns boost & fueling up ,

can traction control be tamed a little , mine just cuts all power to stop spin, which isnt good at a roundabout pulling out quick

well after researching 100's of threads i have settled for the custom code remap as its smooth and theres 30% of the price right now :D Its all booked in with badgers 5 in gloucester and i cant wait, will let you know how it goes and if i get any clutch slippage in the near future!

I have had the custom code rempa done, no issues at all. Nice smooth power delivery right up to red line, generally the CC maps are considered a bit nicer on the standard clutch.

AS with most advice after you get it done don't boot it in a high gear below 2krpm, make sure you are above that if you want your clutch to last... (unless you have after market)

Here is my opinion of remaps I have experienced.

Experienced
-----
1) AmD - In my experience the AmD Remap is the best of both worlds. Smooth power delivery but still nice and aggressive. I personally think it holds the power better than other remaps across the whole range, tails of real late.

2) Revo - Quite aggressive low down, really lets you know its there. Tends to tail of near the 4k mark however a well developed map with good gains.

3) JabbaSport - Quite torquey maps and smoother than revo. Quite smokey maps in my opinion

4) Custom Code - Real smooth progressive maps, will help tyre wear for sure. Good all rounder for an everyday mile crunching car

Not Experienced

RSTuning - if there stage 1 maps are as good as their custom then definately consider these guys.

P-Torque - I have never been in a P-Torque stage 1 mapped car so

Forge - Forge do remaps aswell!

A good tuner can make you a gearselective powerreduction to reduce slip.

I have this kind of mapping for drag race, so in 1st and 2nd gear there is specially adapted software for maximum acceleration close to slip limit of tires.

If you hae to serious issues in curves, you need a LSD *g*

PERFORMANCE TORQUE ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! guess what remap i have on my car??????? i had it done in jan and i havent looked back since power delivery is so smooth and it feels AMAZING when it just plants you back into your seat....

you get befroe and after dyno runs for i think £265

give them a call see what they can do for you....

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THEM!!

I get the impression it really doesn't matter who you go with, you'll like the results.

I've never read anyone say 'I got xxxxx and it was rub-bish'.

OMG! after hearing the custom code is one of the smoother and not so in your face as other remaps i've been blown away!

Got it done at badgers 5 this morning and have just done 120miles and the thing just eats the road! You have to keep checking the speedo every 2 secs cos you get up to 100 that fast! The car feels much smoother now as ive also added a green panel filter. Just have to watch the clutch now, i've only been booting it once at 2000 revs and over and hope this wont destroy it too much. And i guess i better start saving for some top notch tyres as mine will be gone soon im sure.

id definitley recommend a custom code remap and a big thanks too badgers5!!!
