Anyone able to shed some light?

My Engine light came on about a month ago then went off a week later. Came back on again the next week and stayed on. Got it vag-commed with 17545 Fuel Trim: Bank 1 (Add): System too Rich and 17705 Pressure Drop between Turbo and Throttle Valve (check D.V.!)
coming up. Got the codes reset and have been driving for a week to see if it comes back on and then see if it's the same code. .

Now for the weird thing.

The light has just come back on and EVERY TIME it has come on the car has been in the EXACT same location! When pulling into my parking space I have to drive up a steep slope, put the handbrake on, get out and lower a little barrier that I then reverse into. When I go back to the car to reverse in the light has switched itself on!

Why is it coming on when on a steep gradient and at no other time?!

How are my codes and a change in gradient related?!

I'm going to get it vagged again tomorrow and see if the same codes come up. Hopefully they will and I have something to work with but still it's mega weird!

I know what you mean, ive done the same. Even got a local garage to check it out and they couldnt find anything either. I was talkng to Will at P-Torque today and he said it is a common fault code. Have you had any running issues?

Ive not had "system to rich", so cant help there. Im sure it will have been covered a few times over the years on here though.

no the car's fine. getting very good mpg, passed mot last week (with light on) so no fault in emmisions. Just gonna get it reset again i think, buy a code reader and just check it when it comes on again making sure its not a new code. i mean it could be anything! i cant just go replacing random engine components! I'm going to fit a new coolant sensor and thermostat as these are prown to fail so a least ill be covered there.

i have them since i bought my car :<. I will be slowly exchanging all of the vacum and breather pipes and pray it will sort those codes out. Im also sure this is somehow connected to problems with spooling my turbo at around 3k rpm. Drops down and goes back up again.

Sorry to bring up an old thread but did you ever find out what the issue was?

I now have the exact same 2 errors and even though the car is running fine i would like to get to the bottom of it.

Had this on a A4 at work quite a while ago and it actually turned out to be MAF. obviously this may not be the case with your car but may be worth getting checked.

MAF was changed a few weeks ago but i found a split in the PCV block pipe over the weekend, ordered a new silicone one but not sure if this will sort the error codes.

Not sure if this will help, but there's a topic on briskskoda that covers a possible cause and fix
sorry cant post hyperlinks due to my post count, but a simple copy and paste will do the trick

See what block 032 reads on fuel trims, and what block 001 does on idle and cruise throttle etc
if its tripping a code too rich, then the 032 and 001 block will have hit 25% limit..

Just fixed an S3 with the too rich code, and it turned out to be a blocked fuel pressure regulator... blocked with a rubbery type substance.. possible fuel line breaking down!
