This morning my wife sent me a photo with an error in SOS call, it had never failed before. It's time to go to the workshop again.

If I click it for a test will it call ? I think I have tried and nothing happened.
Wait 3 to 4 minutes after pressing and it should pop up on the infotainment screen with a countdown timer. You then have an option to cancel or let the call go through. At least that's how it works in the UK.

eSim or wifi connection would be used for the same - just minor OTA core updates. Theoretically even large updates could still happen, but Seat hasn't released any large OTA packages since 1896 firmware and my car was still under subscription when that happened and was updated via OTA. Since then (well over a year now) there haven't been any large OTA updates, so we can't really confirm if it still works for those...

eSim connection and Connect subscription are two different things. First its just ability to connect to the internet (or call SoS etc) and Wifi can be used for that instead, second is ability to use premium services (like map updates).

As soon as I manually updated to 1940 I got an OTA update. Until then I'd gone months without one. So I suspect if you're stuck on 1890 you won't receive anything else until you get an upgrade to 1940 regardless of Connect subscription status.

Well,I have just puechased the update and… considering that it is a >10Gb file download, it is only logical that OTA does not do this kind of update.

2. before an update

Hey guys. Does anyone else got this weird view for apple carplay after update to 1940? Is there any chance to get it back as it was before in 2nd picture.

The update changes the dpi to a higher one, yes, hence everything is scaled down. I am actually very relieved that it is this way now, since it shows more information at it is not all bunched up like before.

Answering your question, I don’t think there is a way to change it back. You might have to get used to it.

Just agreed for update with the dealer. Told me 4 hours required ???? Those updated by themselves or other via dealer - did you need such time ???

The update doesn’t take to long about 20mins, what takes the time is doing the sd creator as they have to download it and put it on to a usb c for each car so they can’t just use the same one each time, then log it with Odis (vw) so they get paid.
Plus need extra time incase it takes longer then it should or need to do it again.
