Hi I am new to the forum but I thought seeing as I have just bought a Ibiza I might aswel sign up...

Ive got a Cupra Sport 16v...What sort of performance should I expect from the car? To me it doesnt seem that qucik but I havent driven another one to compare it to. I cant get 120mph out of the car so I expect she isnt running right.

I wil add some pics of it later

Heres what my SEAT manual states

2.0 16v 150bhp

Top Speed = 215km/h or 134mph

0-80km/h or 0 -50mph = 5.9 seconds
0-100km/h or 0-62 = 8.3 seconds

hi Brown cupra and welcome.

when i first drove a 16v i didnt think it was that much faster than my 8v but i put it in for a service and the mech cleaned out the throttle body and it was like driving a different car. Also depending on the history of the car it might be worth buying some of that STP stuff you get in halfords for £8 and sticking it in the fuel.

The Forte stuff is so much better than that STP stuff.

i dont use it that much anymore but i tend to whack some through every so often.

i'd defo say though that if a 16v aint feeling as fast as you hoped then get it serviced. Clean the panel filter or get a new one. These are 10 year old cars remember.

Mine is running soooooooooooooo nice at the moment. just want to drive it all the time !!!!!!:)

Im the same with my 1.4 tbh, yes I know that its a 1.4 but since Ive had the timing belt done its so much better. Everything is working without any problems. I had such a fun drive on the way home from work. :D

My exhaust still knocks and I need a new backbox but it isnt blowing or anything yet, but those 2 things are nothing.

now without sounding ridiculous, in germany on the autobahn i had 152mph out of my 1.8 16v, that was 500rpm short of the limiter in 5th. I know mines a bit different but the ratios are the same and the ABF should be able to get that kinda speed.

sounds like yours isnt running right matey

welcome to SCN

139mph...wudn't go above!

Mine's running awkwardly atm tho. Seem's to like revving itself at junctions attracting unnecesarry attention!
