The cylinder cut tech is apparently in the 2.0. Last night the guy was saying it will drop down to 2 cylinders when possible.

I could be wrong ( it has happened beforeThe cylinder cut tech is apparently in the 2.0. Last night the guy was saying it will drop down to 2 cylinders when possible.
I could be wrong ( it has happened before), but I'm pretty sure the 2.0 Tsi doesn't have ACT
My round trip is 80+ each day. I do notice from start the mpg is not good until warm and running and if I do up to 5 miles it’s not great but I rarely do this so expect on a test run you see that. Funny the salesman I did the test with did the same so there must be something in it. But I kept selecting sport as knew the car from the other half’s
The wife has a 1.4 Fr (125) and she only gets a few MPG more than me even. I am Happy with diff for the extra BHP
Depends on your usage def see acceptable figures on my commute. But just wanted to add it’s a long commute so a good run. If all short journeys would expect a drop and I have disabled start stop as annoys me.
Not sure about the cylinder change. Maybe in the link Steve supplied can find more.
whilst a good idea, unfortunately there isn’t much out there in FR Spec that beats the one I am looking at for price.
they have knocked £100 off the price for me as a token gesture and said that’s the best they can do.
I will see if I can get a tank of fuel out of them and some mats
Never believe the dealers; most of them are clueless. Guy I bought my 280 from (secondhand) was asking me about the performance figures and was very taken aback when I told him off for putting 95 octane in it.i was only going on what the guy in the dealership said last night - appears a different message is being given by who ever you speak to![]()
So went to see the car today and it was nice, loved the digital display and heated seats, but it was in a built up area of 30 and 40mph roads with a stretch of 50mph for about 20 seconds - so couldn’t really test the car properly - and the test drive lasted literally 5 mins. Luckily I had a proper test drive of the one last week, otherwise I wouldn’t have any idea how this would drive properly.
the guy today was too busy to look after me properly as had a load of 20 reg cars to hand over, so left me with his colleague who didn’t really “Sell” me the car and just asked if I knew much about it etc.
it was in great condition apart from a few stone chips on the front - but a few more than I would have liked, and although he said they would be touched up, I still know they are there and will play havoc with the ocd side of my brain (I fully understand and appreciate there will be a few marks on a year old car, but I was just a bit “meh” about how many (not loads, but a few more than I would have liked).
he wouldn’t budge on price either as they have someone else looking at it (i believe him on this as I had to cancel and rearrange a time to see the car on Saturday and they said they had someone else coming in to view it and if it sold then they would let me know so I didn’t waste a journey - turns out they couldn’t match this other guys part ex value and he said he would take his car to we buy any car on Monday and see if they can give him a better price) - so it’s a straight “race” between me and A.N.Other to buy it.
comes with a set of mats and £24 of fuel (most they are allowed to put in it) and comes to £16,395. Wouldn’t budge as they are the cheapest on autotrader for similar age and miles (they are, I have checked).
however, I have since found the same age car with just 3k miles on, for only a few hundred more - so have reached out to them for details about their car and I have seen a rather funky looking Orange version (both the one I saw today and the other 3k one are in white) - but the orange one is well over £1,000 more than today’s one - so again I have asked if there is any wiggle room etc.
So not sure what to do now - wasn’t the best customer service today, partly as I had to rearrange my viewing time, and because the main guy was too busy to chat to me properly, but the car was nice.
I have gone back via email to see if there is anything else they are willing to do on price, so we shall see.
it’s a shame the other white one and the orange one are about 2 hours away!
How may miles has it done as £16395 is not bad for a 5-6K miles car. What colour was it? What reg?
You could do what I did and make them an offer of 16K... just because someone else was looking doesn't mean they were buying.
The car has about 9,700 miles on (advertised as 9,687 but it’s been out at least twice this weekend).
19 plate produced in March 2019
the other white one is £16,990, March 2019 and 2,100 miles.
orange one is £17,990 with 11,300 miles (july 2019 car - so a bit younger but higher than average miles).
Are we talking Hire Purchase here? They are all FR Sport models.
The guys with the stone chip version have come back and said £16,395 is the best they can do (as already keenly priced).
The one with only 2k miles won’t budge on price at all, and works out about £290 a month
the orange one will knock £300 off the price, to bring it down to £17,690 and about £330 a month
