So what flip key would i need for my 54 plate (2005) leon fr? 433mhz or 434mhz? Also will a two button one work? Cheers.

433 & 434mhz will work on urs its only 2001 & older that only work on 433mhz,2 button works fine,no point have a 3 button unless u do the boot opening mod

Finding the frequency on the flip is easy and I have done it and they're both 434. To check the frequency on an old 2 button seat remote keyfob is more difficult. I've checked both keys and one I've discovered is 434mhz but the other I cannot find any identification so unsure if it's 433 or 434 but none of them will program! [:@]

We have got that far James,(Earlier in the thread) its the non flip key Scrappy's having problems with

Apologies, misread!!

Scrappy, if you have tried both types and still can't get the pairing to work, I'm back to wondering if its the method rather than the parts?

Scrappy hasnt tried a 433mhz thats what this thread has been about & what philc has been saying

Scrappy said he has tried 2 x flip key's at 434mhz (both no good) and 3 original 2 button keys (433mhz per Phil), which are no good either.

Unless I've misunderstood again!

Not all older style 2 button remotes are 433mhz as I've found, they were all 434mhz! I managed to get a 433 flip key and it programmed first time thank goodness!

Now just got to work out how to program my new transponder I bought from hickeys via VAG-Tacho though it has already given me the SKC PIN Code so hopefully with more usage tomorrow I'll work that out!

I got my transponder (and a headlight alignment for my new HIDs) done this morning at a dealer - £20.40 all in for both, took them about 20 minutes for both and they even had trouble with one of the 3 keys, so it took them longer to do. I was planning on doing it myself, but its not worth it at that price.

Hi, guys just having a wee browse and my remote locking isnt working either, my original key is a hella 433 mhz non flip version. I have tried another one i got from a scrappy too and its 433 also, what pairing procedure are you using thats working, i think iv tried every one possible!!

Mine was the simple Unlock doors with original key, then put it in the ignition and turn igniton on, then close the drivers door and while holding the unlock button on the remote to be paired use that key to also lock and unlock the door manually.

Thats what i did, cut the glue around it whith a stanley blade and put it in the flip key, saves messing around trying to get new transponders to work.

Great, Bret, what procedures did you use also, trying to get all options and try tomorrow. Cheers.

Used VAG-Tacho today and my new flip key and transponder is now accepted and working fine!

What a relief and thanks for everyones input!
