I fancy a set, the chrome are too 'in your face' but I'm tempted to get them wrapped in an aluminium look wrap with the theory that they will look like the ones you get in an Audi RS

Thanks Kali, can't be doing with a dirty car although I'd have to clean it every day at the moment to keep on top of it haha.

Still not convinced damo but you try it and then let me know haha.

The only thing I would like to get is a spoiler for the back but the problem is with a black car I would have to get it painted and I don't think I could justify it really.

We'll see though.

Got another small update to follow shortly.

Small update.

Got my plate holders. Went for plain in the end as I decided there was no point debadging it to put emblems on the plate holder.

Reasoning for these is because I have finally got around to putting my private reg on and get rid of the stealers plates. Further to this I got a set of pressed plates from a VW show I went to last month so I didn't want to put drill holes through so the plate holders fitted the bill.

What do you reckon? Will get overall pic of the Exeo when it gets another clean.

Put my rear mudflaps on at the weekend, no pic though.

Whilst I had the wheel off I was trying to find out the cause of a rattle I had in the offside rear vicinity as I couldn't see anything with it on. To my surprise the spring had broke at the bottom and was just sitting in the middle of the spring existing rattling when I went over bumps. Luckily it was a minor segment which had broke off but alarming all the same. It went into Seat Liverpool who carried out the work under the extended warranty with it being an Approved Used Seat so didn't cost me a bean. And to be fair I couldn't fault Seat Liverpool, got it sorted when I booked it in and sourced the sport spring that day which I thought would take a days delivery since it wasn't standard.

Happy days anyway. Glad I found whilst in the warranty anyway.

Hi All,

Been back into the stealers last week as the emissions light came on after I stalled the car on the motorway whilst stuck in traffic.

The result: a damaged throttle valve.

Somewhat worrying that that can happen just from stalling the car, never heard of that one before. Going in again on tomorrow to have it fitted as they needed to order in the part.

Thank god for extended warranties on Approved Used eh?

On another note my stereo flashed up error this morning and now it says Mixo CD when on the usb setting. Anyone know what this means? It plays fine but just concerned it could develop into something else etc.

Thanks for reading.

Cheers

Well the damaged throttle valve was replaced but the light was still on. Apparently they found another fault whilst carrying out this repair.

Should both not have been picked up in the first instance?

Got to put in another claim on the warranty and get me back in to have that sorted.

I count that as 3 times on the garage in the space of a month. And they charged me £3.28 to replace the battery in my key, thought that was a bit petty.

Anybodies thoughts on the above would be welcomed.

Well the Exeo is finally going in this Wednesday to have an exhaust sensor replaced apparently. Not best impressed its taken so long and I had to chase them when it had arrived! Asked for a courtesy car this time around and I hope for their sake they don't ask for a contribution.

On another note managed to clip my alloy going through a set of lights with a centre reservation so going to have to refurbish that at some point annoyingly. Was thinking of getting an alloy spare so if anyone knows of one going give me a shout please.

£3.28 for a battery that costs about 50p... did you ask them to do it?

I seem to recall there being an Exeo alloy on ebay a few days ago. Are you just refurbing one or having all of them done a different colour? Look forward to the new pics. :D

I did ask them to do it but for a 50p battery (if that) I didn't think they would be petty enough to charge!!!

There is an alloy on at the moment but at £150 I think that is very much top heavy. I'm looking sub £100 including delivery to be honest.

Well it went in for the exhaust sensor finally and it seems to have cured the emissions light being on thankfully.

Got a lovely 13 reg 1.2 Ibiza FR as a courtesy car but didn't drive it too far as I only work down the road (a very long road hence the courtesy car). Quite a nippy thing in low revs but certainly isn't quick when you attempt to put your foot down haha. Glad to have my Exeo back anyway.

Just need to organise the alloy refurb now.

And just quickly looking back through my thread I haven't updated with my new rear badge, will get a pic up when I get a moment. But basically for whatever reason the previous badge was all pitted on the laminate coating so got a good used one for £26 posted which I didn't think was too bad considering there £81 new from Seat.

Thanks for reading.

Chris, do you have a link to where you bought the chrome for the lower grille?

Just wondering how many millimetres thick it is.
Thanks!

Sorry Damo, haven't got a link sorry. Think I got it from caraccessoriesplus.

Reckon it's about 4mm thick if that helps.

Hi mate,
Done the total opposite - I got my front grille wrapped in piano black, including the badge. Also wrapped my mirrors in brushed aluminium - well chuffed with the look :)

Hi,

Your car looks great! Shame about those issues you've had but hopefully that was all just a bit of bad luck one off things and now you're going to be smooth sailing or rather driving ;)

Yours is looking smart now, love the pedals and the boot matte strip, might get one for mine when I get it.

Can't wait to pick mine up, mines black too...

damo74, I think I want to wrap the mirrors on mine when I get it, do them Aluminium like you have...did you do yours or did you get someone to do it?

I've done a Carbon fibre wrap on a bonnet before, but that was quite flat and on an old car so not sure if I'd be able to get the wrap to look good on the mirrors?
