I'm guessing that you checked what Sachs (ZF Aftermarket) web cat listed as the correct parts for your car, and not just ordered online from ECP.Just bought 2 sachs front springs and top bearings to replace.
You can but it's a tricky DIY.Can you take the shock off without removing the hub? Looks like a pinch bolt and the shock can just pull out of the hub assembly. Is there enough room with the hub in situe to remove the shock?

Hum, I did that to my daughter's 2009 Ibiza while I was looking after it for a few years while she worked aboard, naughty car broke a front spring as we drove to the airport for a week's holiday abroad!I'd get the VW part unless you're replacing both and feeling lucky! I remember a guy at work getting new springs on his car, got aftermarket ones. Front of the car sat higher! Looked idiotic. Never mentioned it to him and I'm not sure he noticed.
