2nd gear

2nd gear sometimes used to grind on my car if i changed quickly after 5000 rpm . it has gradualy got worse to the stage where it grinds about 20 percent of the time at any revs when the car has warmed up . my local seat garage are sh1t and have never fixed anything the car has gone in for so i dont have any faith in them sorting it out . has any one else had the same prob and got it fixed ?

might have to getting fed up of the crap service in the durham one

sounds like it could be a clutch problem (not disengaging correctly)or most likely that the second gear synchromesh is shot


if it is a synchromesh they normally fit a new gearbox

I had the same problem in my previous car, was the synchro in the box. That ended up taking the whole of the gearbox with it. Id get it sorted now incase it turns costly!

im under waranty so wont be a prob the only way it will get fixed at my local seat is if arrives on a trailer
