380bhp K1 (Now with a couple of short vid clips)

there is another mk5 gti in the uk who has fitted this valve, iirc by what cuprak1 has told me it didnt fix his flat spot, and he got some low rpm running issues, but who knows if they are related or not.

Just not enough consistency with this mod at the moment, or enough consistency with what causes the flat spot.

Im running 8 6 8 with standard exhaust but all other mods and have no flatspot anymore. Dont think the exhaust has anything to do with it either as I have had the flat spot on the stock exhaust before.

BTW a car without the flat spot is soooooooo much better and more fun to drive. I hope it stays this way but who knows, im sure it will return at some point.

actually there is a mk2 cupra on this site which also has this mod but there isnt much info on it. Revo recommended it to his tuner,
Correct, he fitted it but it actually made things worse for him.. and like i told you the other night, the strange things is that when i fill up with fuel there is no flat spot, give it a few miles later and it comes back, very ghey.

I just expect and put up with it now lol

Bring on the water meth

Very Impressive mate. I've had superchip stage one but they managed to get 319 bhp out of a stage one for me... I took it down to MK and they did it at there head office..

There first little play come out at a poor 278 bhp they played about with the file a little more and it ended up at 319 bhp... and 429 Nm of torque.. Rest of the car engine wise is standard.. well and a forge Blow off valve.

319Hp@stage 1. my advice for you is not to go on a Dyno Dynamics rolling road in the futute if you believe the figures from the superchips RR as you will be utterly devestated when you see the results

Wow that flat spot would be very irritating I would imagine! The revs actually jump back a little before it seems to be able to catch up with itself? Almost as if it runs out of juice prematurely

When the revs jump back i'd imagine that this was wheel spin

+1 the other vid of a flatspot was completly different to this so id also go with wheelspin.

If we're all bragging about rr results mine went on Dyno Dynamics rollers and made 345bhp [B)] which is pretty respectable and the last dyno it went on it made 423bhp :bleh:.

I think its wheelspin aswell but al says it does the exact same thing again a few secs later. Obviously hard to say with the constant wheelspin.

Wheelspin with a LSD?

I'd say clutch slip or driver lifting foot a bit slow of the clutch perhaps ?

A diff doesn't stop the laws of physics from applying bud. If the power transfer after the diff is greater than the amount of traction available, the result is wheelspin.

enough power though to spin both front wheels up at 90mph?

Am i the only car with a Ko4 without the flat spot? Have to say my car is running flawlessly at the moment, once power comes in it's there beyond the redline.. looks like clutch slip in the vid also. My clutch is getting on me t*ts, it slips when ambient temps are low..

if tractions off and it wet its do able, especially if tyres are closer to the end of their life than the start.

Dont think its clutch slip as he has a uprated clutch iirc

Need to watch the video again really, or better yet mick needs to come out with us!

Sorry.
Not been around to reply to the posts :censored:

It wasn't a flat spot no.
It was clutch slip.

I have a standard clutch at the moment but that won't be for long.
Need another pay day first :headhurt:

It could've been a mixture of clutch and wheelspin as it does spin in 4th in the wet.
Definately not flat spot though.

Maybe heat soak, how many runs did they do? My torque always drops after one or two runs, bhp seems to stay constant, when the intake temps get high the ecu pulls boost and boost=torque!
Just the 2 as shown on the graph.
Shaun did say that they had kept the ambient temp down and given 5 minutes inbetween the runs..

I am interested to know how the traction control works with the diff mick? I will find out myself by the weekend, but interested to see how the electronics work with the mechanics on yours.

Also, is the sensation coming off a roundabout completely the opposite with regard to which direction the car wants to take you under power - ie understeer on the way out on stock box and pulling you toward the pavement with the LSD?
I haven't hardly noticed the light come on the dash as I used to pre LSD fitting.
The LSD just appears to pull the car around a corner with no fuss at all.
You still get understeer if going into a corner hard but the LSD will not make such a meal out of powering out of the corner.
You can feel it trying to pull the car back in a straight line.
You'll probably be able to explain it better yourself after yours is fitted over the weekend.

Looking good, and goes well too. So are you getting much wheel spin in the wet through the gears??

I've got the stage 2+, milly TBE, KMD fuel pump (no ITG or cooler) but the car spins in the dry let alone in the wet. Not easy putting that kind of power down with the front wheels!
You can make it wheel spin in the wet in 5 gears if you want to
You can drive it quite hard in the wet without too much drama as it goes. You can feel the traction starting to slip when pushing on but just ease off a little and accelerate again and it all gets back in shape.

Oh, can I willy wave too?

best bhp...383bhp
best torque...415lbft

Realistically though....about 360 true bhp and 360 true lbft[B)]
Nice bit of willy waving there Hurdy

yea tat did seem a little strange.

Does it do that all the time?
The clutch is slipping quite consistantly at the moment yes :(

or better yet mick needs to come out with us!
Soon young Jedi soon ;)

I was out in a giac extreme ed30 yesterday and in hurdys ed30 and neither appeared to have it. My own car felt good too with the rs4 valve buy I need to properly test that to confirm if it's gone completely. Certainly the jingling noise seems to have gone for the moment.

You can get wheelspin in 4th at 90 as questioned above by the way if the road surface is smooth and wet.
