As the title really, Morrisons in Stirling want £200 for a 40,000 mile service, But if it entails relatively easy procedures (oil filter and change, air filter etc) I reckon i'll just do it myself.
when ur cars under warranty, u always get ripped off with ur service charges, my 10k service for a 1.4tdi cost me £160 and once i had come home and read the reciept, i notice i had been charged £10 for a window wash refil that was already full and £10 for waste charges to get rid of my old engine oil.
my advice is dont go to a seat dealership if u can avoid it
Check brake pad thickness and renew if necessary
Renew Oil
Renew Oil filter
Renew spark plugs
Renew pollen filter element
Check auxiliary drive belt(s) and renew if necessary
Check manual transmission oil level
Check underbody protection for damage
Check exhaust emissions
Renew air filter element
Renew fuel filter
Renew timing belt (SEAT specify a timing belt renewal at 60K but if the car is used mainly for short journeys this shorter interval should be adhered to.)
Reset service interval display
60K service is as above - but check and adjust clutch pedal free play (where applicable)
Yearly service is quite a lot of jobs so make sure you stay on top of them... (Probabaly the most important service)
Every 2 years is just renew coolant and brake fulid.
If you get a Haynes Manual then you can easily do the services yourself.
