Guest, 🚨New Stock alert: Premium CUPRA valve caps now available in the store 👉 Order now from the merchandise store
CAMBELTS ARE DUE AT 60,000 MILES ON PETROLS AND OLD DIESEL MOTORS 40,000 ON NEW PD DIESELS
This is out of date information. SEAT (and Skoda and presumably VW), are now recommending that the timing belt is changed at 40k or 4 years, (which ever is the sooner), for all models with the VW Golf derived engine.
I learned this from a (Skoda) dealer when I bought my car (50k 02 plate Leon Cupra) from them. He wasn't getting any money out of me for doing it as he only remembered the (then new - late 2006) recomendation when I asked if the belt had been changed and so said he would include it as part of the deal.

think i paid £175 ex. vat for my 40k service from a Seat specialist, would have to check my files to be sure though.![]()
to be honest, i'd rather not go to a main dealer, but i want the service history to be SEAT
.....or have a nice looking seat badge on the service stamp.
will i get that from a seat specialist?
