51 Reg Ibiza Stsreo Advice

Evening all, I am looking at purchasing an ibiza around the 51 reg age, now I am quite into having decent in car stuff fitted, I want to know how hard it is to change the std HU for a single DIN unit - i have an alpine touch screen DVD HU to install, along with some focal components, JL 10W3 subwoofer and JL500/1 amp.

I am purely asking now as a research thread, BEFORE I go and buy the car.

Will removing the std HU render the aircon etc useless?

Don't bother mate seriously it's just too much hassle.

What I did on my MK3 was kept the standard HU.

But had a set of components, a 12" rear sub, and a 4 channel amp with high level inputs.

Use the rear speaker wire to provide the high level inputs, and wire the front components all the way back to the amp.

Sounded great and looked standard!

whats the hassle with changing it? is it due to the climate controls etc?

It's just the whole unit, the screen for the radio/climate control/trip meter thing is the same.

You can do it, it's just a massive hassle and in most peoples view, not worth it unless you like spending big money for little gain.
