That's huge money for what is essentially a fast hatchback

Interested to see that you've tested an R32. I've been considering buying one but the one i tesed was lifeless above 60mph (like lightning up to 60 tho). Was the one you tested the same? or did i get a duff one for my test?

As much as I see sense in normally aspirated 'V' engines as they don't suffer the reliability and temperature issues of turbo's, the VW V6 is just so bland and nothingy in either the R32 or the new TT. Revo Stg 2 has spoiled me as I'm completely addicted to the punch in the back of mid range torque you get from it. They do sound good, but if you've been used to turbo power you can't help but get out feeling slightly numbed from the drive. Even the 4.2 V8 in the S4 is the same. Don't get me wrong, they are quick, and deceptively quick, but they just lack the excitement, and don't come close to the M3's straight six which is just staggeringly good by comparison.
