indeed tom i have no doubt that sfs tip will flow more the b5 tip (v1) but v2 is another story i personally the desaign on v2 will give it that little bit extra but for maybe 1-2bhp can't justify the price to be honest

its 15-17lbft More Torque..... the main difference on V2-80mm to V1-3"... and more power.. gains everywhere where the V1 lost ~10lbft initial torque but sustained it 1000-1500rpm longer hence making it more power.

V2 looses nothing anywhere, only gains... and significant like below example.

Is that compared to a standard tip or the sfs item???

standard guessing from the titles, dont think bills new tip is worth give or take 15bhp over his old one....

I think the 3" sfs or the v2 badger TIP are a must for anyone who wants to realisicly get near the magic 300bhp and get a real 300bhp not a happy rollers 300!! I have the 3" SFS atm and the only reason was the price, I think the difference between the 2 is that small that the price was the deciding factor for me!

I really think a real 300bhp can now be hit on a OEM ko4 with ether of these 2 TIPs mated with the new exhaust manifold from across the pond and the rite supporting mods mixed with a custom map and hopefully my car will prove this within the next week or 2

its 15-17lbft Mov2vv2 will flow

Bill as i said i have no doubt v2 version for performance will out do sfs but by how much is the issue for me for the price gap .

I got mine out today, I'm running a stage 2 map from PTorque, forged rods, B5 V2 tip, relentless mani and downpipe with 200cell cat and milltek. It feels an absolute rocket compared to before.

can you not just buy rods as i thought bam engine pistons were all ready forged items. even so thats a good price

no i can get the rods and 83mm pistons for 560 delivered which is a bargain, as stated standard pistons will be too small , once building the engine i want to no every part will well exceed what i'm asking of it , i've always like the idea of running gt30 later on at least then i no it could handle it easily

are these really worth it on just a stage one map? current mods are just jetex filter, forge 007p and n249bypass and hoping to go down to p-torque in march for a stage one map, will i benefit from a 3" TIP or is it more for people running turbo back 3" exhausts etc?

You'll benefit on stage one aswell, even stock map...

Regardless of map you'll get more air flow, more g/s = more power.

I've got the 3" sfs TIP which made 285bhp and 320ft/lbs after a custom map by the man from Hinckly, since then the car went pop :( so its back with him at the min having rods and valves done, but also having the new manifold and 3" dp fitted :) and just for a little extra kick a wet NOS kit :D

Iam getting my car mapped by them guys aswell. How did you pop your engine??

Mine arrived yesterday with a BMC filter and heatshield.
Getting it fitted next week with a FMIC. Hope to see a good improvement, already running REVO stage 2.

the only reason i went for the sfs tip over the b5 was it worked out alot cheaper and they both do the same thing give or take a few bhp

Yeah that's Revo stage 1 with the linear throttle map.

TBH chasing BHP figures is a bit pointless really, you only even feel peak BHP near the redline. Torque is what makes the car feel fast. I'd happily sacrifice 10bhp in exchange for 10lb/ft any day.
