Well 4 done under warranty but my views on local dealer confirmed - Dobies in Carlisle.
My wife with 8 week old baby arrived for half 9, eventually left at 11:45! Did not even have them in stock, No health check, no offer of refreshments, impolite - glad got them for free but joke of a dealer[:@]

Sent an email to Seat in Hatfield yesterday and they sent me a reply today saying that "there is an outstanding campaign on your vehicle for the coil packs" :)

will book it in tomorrow.

i'll say it again, whats the deal if the coilpacks in the car arent the originals? I mean its a 10 year old car and if the coilpacks are now known to be prone to failure then by definition there is quite a high chance that the coilpacks in a car arent going to be the original ones.

just got back from the seat garage in peterborough. they made me sit around for an hour or so whilst they "checked my coilpacks" then told me that they didnt actually have them in stock, despite them having well over a week to order them.
they could have called me before hand to let me know they havent got any so not to bother coming in!

grrr, back in tomorrow by the looks of things.

on the plus side, i mentioned that i needed my new key synced to the immobiliser and she said she wouldnt charge for it because of messing me around. so every cloud and all that.....:D:D

so thats 50quid "worth" of immo chip programming and 4 new coilpacks fitted for the price of a couple of hours wasted and a couple of journeys to and from the garage. guess i can't complain too much.

To let you know there is also a recall for PD injectors. I rang to check to see if my 1.8T had a recall, she said yes it would take 6 hours. i was shocked, i asked what it involved she said to check the injectors and replace if necessary... i advised its a 1.8T she said whoops sorry etc and there is a recall for my coil packs... but its out there from me anyway theres a recall on PD injectors on the leon but we probs now that anyway????

Just phoned Morrisons Garage in Stirling and they confirmed it for my car. Booked in on Wed morning.
Don't know if I'll notice any difference but if it's free I'm in!!

When I was checkin the part number for the dealer, I noticed one was hangin out a bit! Surely that can't be good lol! I popped it back in anyway. ;)

Was that Stoneacre you went too?

yeah. just got back actually. coilpacks done :) (cant notice any difference though)

but they said that they "couldnt do my immobiliser" :( gave some excuse about buying ones off ebay never a good idea (even though i told him it came with the car!)

if they couldnt do it, doesnt that mean that theres either not an immo transponder in the key or it is and its broke or they didnt bother trying?

You wont notice any difference if yours were ok, but i guarantee you would have noticed if one failed ;)

Probably couldn't be bothered.

just rang seat to see if mine is on recall and they said yes so new coil packs for me. bad news is its still in a garage getting front wing done when some woman skided into me last friday in snow last friday so will have to wait
