as the way the birth of many of the greatest modding idea's have been born, hell where's the fun and sense of achievement in joining the queue to just buy some huh ?

how about flexible circuit boards to allow use of original lights as they are folded inside and then wired simply as low level sidelights

i have a bunch of flexi strip led's and square single mounts here that look useful

this is what i was thinking of using to try but i think the sidelights on our cars onlly covers the outer rear lights and not the light parts on the hatch. plus getting access to it is an issue too if you wanted to fit the led strip lihts, i think you would have to cut the lens or split it open one way or another.

the lights on the boot are just fogs so you would need to run a trace around and inside the boot lid but wouldnt be too hard. You can get flat bendy stip lights or cable style light (the stuff you use inside), they could work better?
