Ok guys I have ordered the led’s so once the parts arrive I just need to find a set of used tail lights I can take apart and then it’s just a question of a couple of days to find the time to finish it up
So hopefully I will have a prototype within two weeks
As to the price I am not sure yet id don’t what to lead anyone the wrong way parts are going to be about 40-60 £ once I have one kit fully installed and working I will release the price

I will be going with option 3 !

Ok a small update I ordered some led’s today 150 quality super flux led’s cost me 50$
There will be 132 led’s in total in the tail lights that’s 66 on each side 46 for the outline and an extra 20 for the brake lights
2 X pcb board was 10$ each so that’s 20$
2 X volt regulator 2$
So including resistors wiring and connectors each set of costume led circuit will cost 52£ just for the parts not including labor
However if I get a sufficient amount of people willing to do a group buy and pay for a reserve I could order a greater amount of parts which will reduce the overall price of the kit (we will get to that once the prototype is finished and tested)
I also got a set of used rear tail lights tomorrow I’m going to see what it takes to take them apart

And just a small teaser of another project I’m working on
Did someone say honeycomb grill for an LCR… ;)

As long as there is a reflector you should be fine.

when i had lex arse ones in my old car for a bit a the chief of Ar$es pulled me in weston wheels :w4nk:
got a measuring tape /ruler to measure the distance between the indicators / reflectors / brake & tail lights

he then said theyr illegal mate ,

to which i replied nope theyre EU stamped

he states es but were in the Uk

I reply but the Uk is part of the EU :birdy:

he then phones his superiour and  :runaway:

so , in this case your OE ones will be stamped , and with them coming on all the newer top models id imagine they wont think twice about it

just look at the retro hid theory

mines just passed its 2nd mot with them on

Be intrested to see how this LED ligth goes, as for the honey comb grill....had mine on for best part of 2 years honey comb grill....

Thats with the upper grills changed to match the badgeless grill..
Looking at yours, it seems your grill spacing isnt the same as the upper grills you get, are you going to change your "slats" on your upper grill to match that honeycomb pattern spacing?

Mate got pulled on our way in to WW years ago, and had to remove his tints there and then, i wound down my windows well before ;)

I'm deffo in for a set of the lights. As for the grills....I want the same honeycomb but not badgless in the center....am I asking a lot....are these bought or made....if bought where from....if made what process has been used and where“s the honeycomb purchased from?

in mine, teh honey comb is taken from a donor upper honey comb grill.. as its the only way to match perfectly the honeycomb pattern across the light section. Unfortunately, the upper grills are slightly shorter than the centre section, so you need to make a blank panel or copy the honeycomb pattern using some plastic material? if you was to have a S in the middle you may be able to salvage the centre sections to join the top half up instead of a blank panel.. but you would need to try, to find out..

@Talx - I like the grill, matches the LCR's lower grills, are you going to sell them? and how much?

@Slick - like the way you've put in the honeycombs but not sure about the bit at the top of the centre grill. Nice motor though.

Basically what you said is the reason I have a blank panel, I used the honeycomb from teh upper grills to match the centre, where Talx one, i "presume" is made from the lower grills on the Cupra R, which, when you fit it beside the upper honeycomb grill looks worse than having a blank plate in mine... but thats my personal opinion on it of coarse

How come the honeycomb threadnaping

Yes it is made out of the bottom grill of the LCR
yes the side grills will be made of the same grill
yes the small mesh honeycomb grills are ugly that’s why I’m going with the lower honeycomb grill mesh size
Yes half a honeycomb grill isn’t half as ugly but twice as ugly as a full grill small mesh
Yes this has nothing to do with led’s

Anyone who want to see more info on the honeycomb grill look out for my project thread aka “The Black Mamba” [B)]

Project update:
Went to get the tail lights and one had a small crack on the side so I’m going to wait and see if I can find a better one until the led’s I ordered arrive
If I don’t find a set ill use them just for prototype and testing

Bye the way anyone want to help out with a set of tail lights for a reasonable price? :help:
(will get good price on led setup ;) )

I received the led’s and got all the rest of the parts and designed the circuitry but I haven’t found a spare set of tail lights
So once I find a set it’s a matter of a couple of days to complete the prototype

I think someone was supposed to help me out and send me a set tail lights but didn’t in the end
